961,724. Transformers. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Nov. 4, 1960, No. 37991/60. Heading H1T. In a transformer having concentric windings 3<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>1</SP> on a core 1, all the layers are stepped in the same sense so that the layer length is greater nearer the core and the turn density at the ends (as shown by the dots) is less than in the centre of the winding. The turn density at the ends of the windings is graded so that the centres lie in a radial horizontal plane 5<SP>1</SP>, 6<SP>1</SP>. The winding may be of star-connected threephase type.
