Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform temprature compensation for the crystal oscillator with a simple constitution, by increasing the oscillation frequency through higher impedance of the diode when the temperature is decreased and by making dependent the change in the oscillation frequency on the frequeny on the frequency change in the crystal oscillator, when the temperature rises.
CONSTITUTION: When the temperature decreases from a given temperature, the resistance of the thermister 1 is gradually increased, the voltage to ground of the junction point 26 is also gradually lowered to increase the impedance of the diode 2. The load capacitance of the crystal oscillator 19 is changed by capacitance change in the capacitor 3 through the impedance change to increase the oscillation frequency. On the other hand, when the temperature is increased than a given temperature, the resistance of the thermister 1 is lowered, but since the impedance of the diode 2 is saturated, and the frequency change in a given temperature range is dependent on the frequency change in the crystal oscillator 19. Accordingly, the temperature compensation of crystal oscillator can be made with a simple constitution.
