Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent scattering of developer and deterioration of a developed image, by providing a developer collector near the opening of casing of a developing unit between a developing sleeve and the casing. CONSTITUTION:A developer is attracted like a brush form on the outer circumference of developing sleeve 2 having a multipolar magnet 3 in the inside and an electrostatic latent image on photosensitive drum 7 is developed with the developer brush. In this developing unit, developer collecting plate 10 made of a conductive material is arranged between sleeve 2 and casing edge 5a. The developer on sleeve 2 after development is scraped down with scraper 8, and prevented from scattering out of the unit or toward the drum 7 surface by baffling action of plate 10, and recovered in developer tank 4. A certain amount of toner suspended in the air is collected statically with plate 10, too.
