Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent photographic fog and improve the life of the developer by attracting and removing the opposite-polarity-charged toners or noncharged toners produced with degradation of the developer having deposited on the photoreceptor surface by a conductive member. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor surface 1a is charged to (+) by a charge Corotron 2 and the (+) charge other than the portion 11 (image part) opposing to the information portion of the original is erased by the light radiated from an exposure device 3 and reflected from the original. And the (-) charged positive-polarity-charged toners 12 are attracted to the image part 11 by the developing roll 4 to which (+) bias voltage is applied, whereby development is done. After this, the opposite-polarity- charged toners 13 and noncharged toners 14 which become the cause for photographic fog approach to the conductive member 5 which is charged to (-) similarly to the positive-charged toners 12 along with the rotation of the photoreceptor 1 and only these are attracted from the portions 15 other than the image part of the photoreceptor surface 1a. Further, it is possible to scrape off the toners attracted by the conductive member by a scraping blade 17 and recover them into a recovery vessel 18.
