Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the developer from scattering to the surroundings and decrease the sticking of carriers onto a photosensitive drum by installing a magnet to a developing device housing or near the same in such a manner that the same pole as the developing pole opposes to the drum.
CONSTITUTION: A magnet 37 is magnetized and mounted to the lower part of a developing device housing 15a in such a manner that the magnetic pole of the same polarity as that of the developing pole opposes to a photosensitive drum 12. As the drum 12 revolves, the toner reaches a cleaner 19. The cleaner 19 has a blade 44, and the edge part of said blade 44 is held pressed to the surface of the drum 12. The toner image remained on the surface of the drum 12 is scraped off by the edge of the blade 44 and is recovered into a toner vessel 45. Hence, the scattering of the developer to the surroundings is prevented and the sticking of the carriers onto the drum is decreased.
