Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the seaming part of stable and good quality, by seaming in layers the billet and the pipe sleeve which are made of different kinds of mettalic materials, respectively, and irradiating the electronic beam to the intermediate part of the outside circumferential line and the inside circumferential line of the pipe sleeve.
CONSTITUTION: On the butt seaming part 3c which has been made by seaming in layers the billet 1a made of copper, etc. and the pipe sleeve 2a made of stainless steel, etc. is mounted the spacer 6 of the same material as the billet 1a so that it can be at the same level as the billet 1a and the pipe sleeve 2a. The welding part is formed by irradiating the electronic beam to the butt seaming part 3a and the intermediate part of 3b and 3c. In this case, since the seaming part 3a becomes butt welding of the metallic material of the same kind, the welding part of good quality can be obtained regardless of the weld penetration depth, and its mechanical seaming strength is maintained. Also, as for the intermediate part of the butt seaming parts 3b, 3c, the metallic materials of different kinds are welded in layers, therefore satisfactory welding can be obtained regardless of the weld penetration depth theoretically, and its sealing quality is maintained.
