Abstract

PURPOSE:To control the composition of weld metal and obtain the good welded joint free from any cracking etc. by providing a level change to the butt faces of the works comprising dissimilar materials and performing welding by electron beam or the like. CONSTITUTION:A level change 3b is provided to the butt faces 3a of the works 3 comprising dissimilar materials such as copper and steel material, and an electron beam 2 or the like converged by a converging coil 1 is irradiated thereto, whereby welding is performed. The forming position of this level change 3b is so set as to become of such a rate at which no defects such as crackings are produced in correspondence to the combinations of dissimilar materials. The controlling of the chemical components of the weld metal may be performed by working of such butt faces and the good welded joint may be obtained.
