Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent weld crack and degradation in corrosion resistance owing to the penetration of iron contents from the carbon steel side of base materials by subjecting the copper of a groove part beforehand to build-up welding with copper welding rods to increase wall thickness then to ordinary welding. CONSTITUTION:Build-up weld zones 6 are formed by TIG welding of 9/1 cupro- nickel in the groove part of 9/1 cupro-nickel clad steel plates, whereby build-up zones 6 are formed. The groove parts on the carbon steel 1 side are butt welded by using carbon steel welding rods of the same type as that of the steel 1, whereby weld zones 3 are formed. After this, Monel is welded from the part 2 side in penetration to the weld zones 6 and the weld zones 3, whereby weld zones 4 are formed. Finally, the zones 6 and the zones 4 are melted by 9/1 cupro-nickel welding rods on the zones 4, whereby weld zones 5 are formed. Therefore, weld crack and degradation in corrosion resistance by the dilution of iron contents are obviated.
