Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration of the quality of material of a stainless steel layer, by forming a padding part of stainless steel at the stainless steel side along a weld line, making a beveling part at both sides and welding each steel, at the time of butt welding of a stainless clad steel plate.
CONSTITUTION: In the event of butt welding of two clad steel plates consisting of carbon steel 1 and stainless steel 2, a padding part 13 of stainless steel is formed in 2mm thick and 50mm wide or so on stainless steel to be welded 2 having the same quality. Subsequently, the carbon steel plate 1 and the padding part 13 are beveled 14, a welding part 15 is formed from the carbon steel side 1 with a carbon steel welding rod having the same quality as usual, and subsequently welding is performed from the stainless steel side 2 with a stainless steel welding rod having the same quality, and a welding part 16 is formed. Since the padding part 13 of stainless steel is formed, the influence of weld penetration of the carbon steel side is little, effected and the increase of intergranular corrosion of stainless steel due to cementation from the carbon steel side 1 is prevented.
