Abstract

CONSTITUTION: On the butt seaming part 3c of the billet 1a made of copper, etc. and the pipe sleeve 2 made of stainless steel, etc. is mounted the spacer 6a of the same material as the billet 1 so that its surface can be at the same level as the billet 1a and the pipe sleeve 2a. In case the welding part is formed by irradiating the butt seaming parts 3a, 3b by the electronic beam, the weld penetration depth of the butt seaming part 3b is limited to less than 4mm. By means of the afore-mentioned method, the seaming part of good quality can be obtained, and the mechanical seaming strength of the billet 1a and the pipe sleeve 2a is elevated.
