Abstract

PURPOSE:To cause the lights of plural wavelengths propagating through an optical fiber to enter other arbitrary optical fibers by each wavelength, by using obliquely provided dichromatic filter and reflecting mirror. CONSTITUTION:Two signals of which wavelengths are lambda1, lambda2 having propagated through an optical fiber 1 are passed through a self-focusing type lens 8 of 1/4 periodic length, and become nearly parallel with respect to the axis. Since a filter 9 which reflects the light of wavelength lambda1 and passes the light of wavelength lambda2, and a reflecting mirror 10 are disposed obliquely, of the parallel lights, the light of wavelength lambda1 is reflected by the filter 9 and passes through the lens 8 to be focused on the end plane of an optical fiber 2, while the light of wavelength lambda2 is reflected by the reflecting mirror 10 and is focused on an optical fiber 5. By rotating the filter 9 or reflecting mirror 10, the direction of reflection may be changed. Also, by supporting the filter or the reflecting mirror with a piezo-electric substance, it is possible to control the direction of inclination by means of voltage.
