Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain maximum output in a small size and propagate light to optional optical fiber, by disposing optical fibers on one end side of a self-converging lens which rotates about the central axis and on the end side to which light is converged as being reflected by the plane of reflection of the lens. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting mirror is formed on a self-converging lens on a flat plane including the axis, at positions shown by faces 13' to 18', and when the lens is rotated about the axis until the reflecting mirror comes to face 13', the light from an entrance fiber 12 is converged in an exit fiber 13. When the reflecting mirror comes to face 14', the light is designed to be converged in an exit fiber 14. Thus, when the lens is rotated at an angle of theta around the axis of the lens, the converging position rotates 2theta around the aixs, so that the maximum output may be obtained in a small size. Besides, light may be propagated to an optional optical fiber. It is also possible to pluralize both the entrance fiber and exit fiber.
