Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent unnecessary light from entering an output fiber, to reduce the loss of light and to reduce manufacture cost, by forming a filter, which absorbs or reflects unnecessary light between a lens and an optical fiber end surface. CONSTITUTION:Of light incident from an optical fiber 3a to a convergent rod lens 1, a component of wavelength lambda1 reflected by a filter 2 is made to incident to a fiber 3b and the remainder of wavelength lambda2 passed through the filter is reflected by a reflecting mirror 4 and then transmitted through the filter 2 again to strike a fiber 3C. On the end surface of the fiber 3b to which the light of wavelength lambda1 reflected by the filter 2 is made to incident, i.e. at the composition surface between the lens 1 and fiber 3b, a filter 7 is formed, so the light of wavelength lambda2 is prevented from making incident to the fiber 3b.
