Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an optical circuit for an optical fiber which is not affected by the displacement of a dielectric wavelength dispersion light split element by employing a totally reflective light split element.
CONSTITUTION: A laser light from a first optical fiber collimated by an optical element 41 is split into two lights parallel with one another by a light split element formed of plane mirrors 71, 72 at 45° with respect to a vertical axis at the mirror surfaces for totally reflecting the incident light in a direction perpendicular thereto, and focused at the end surfaces of optical fibers O2, O3 through second and third optical elements 42, 43, respectively. When this construction is compared with a light split using a prism or the like, it can couple lights without deterioration nor affection of the displacement of the light split element and of the dielectric wavelength dispersion through the optical circuit.
