Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the characteristics of the insulation between the conductors of the winding in an electric machine by winding the conductors with an insulating material treated with hardener for the impregnating resin and coupling agent and then iompregnating this with resin thereby achieving uniform coating of hardener over the base material and hence obtaining improved insulation characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: Insulating material of refractory film or refractory non-woven fabric is treated with a hardener for the impregnating resin and a coupling agent solution of amino silane or the like, and is then wound on the conductors. This is then impregnated with a resin consisting of polyfunctional epoxy compounds and polyfunctional isocyanate compounds. The amount of the coupling agent used should be about 0.01∼2 percent of the impregnating resin by weight so as not to affect the refractoriness of the resin. Thus, the hardener is coatd uniformly and also made to adhere strongly thereby providing improved insulation characteristics.
