Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an unimpregnated insulating layer with uniform thickness and well tensed by performing semihardening processing of alkyl silicate binder coated and impregnated to a degree no sticking at normal temp. on an inorganic composite base composed of a ceramic paper layer of inorganic short fiber and glass fiber cloth with coarse texture. CONSTITUTION:Existing invention includes an inorganic composite base composed of a glass fiber cloth 3 with coarse texture and a ceramic paper layer 4 consisting of inorganic short fiber and alkyl silicate binder 5 containing inorganic short fiber coated or impregnated on/in the inorganic composite base, wherein the alkyl silicate binder 5 is semi-hardened to a degree not sticking at normal temp. 10-30 parts by wt. kalium titanate fiber powder as inorganic fiber is mixed with the alkyl silicate binder 5, and the glass fiber cloth shall be given coarse texture. This eliminates rupture or defoliation of the ceramic paper layer in taping operation to coil conductor, and an unimpregnated tape layer with uniform thickness can be formed.
