Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a fundamental material having an electromagnetic wave shielding property, by providing an intermediate layer containing a conductive fiber alone or the conductive fiber and a wooden fiber in a mixed state in a fiberboard formed based on the wooden fiber by hot pressing molding in the thickness direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer containing a conductive fiber alone or the conductive fiber and a wooden fiber in a mixed state is provided in a fiberboard, which is formed based on a wooden fiber by hot pressing molding, in the thickness direction thereof. In preparing the fiber board, a retaining mold is filled with the wooden fiber impregnated with an adhesive to form the first surface layer part and further filled with the conductive fiber impregnated with the adhesive or the mixture of the wooden fiber and the conductive fiber impregnated with the adhesive in a laminar form and, further, the second surface layer part composed of the wooden fiber impregnated with the adhesive is allowed to fill to form a fiber mat which is, in turn, subjected to hot pressing molding in the retaining mold. The conductive fiber is pref. formed into a layer having a thickness of about 0.1-2mm in a state mixed in an amount of 50% or more, pref., 60-80% of the cross-section of the intermediate layer.
