Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce coke having high mechanical strength from a low-fluidity coal, economically and easily, by crushing a high-fluidity coal so as to obtain a size distribution wherein particles having diameter of ≤3mm amount to ≤90%, and dispersing the crushed coal into a low-fluidity coal.
CONSTITUTION: A relatively hard, high-fluidity coal having the maximum fluidity of ≥1000 ddpm, a Hardgrove grindability index of lower than that of the average value of the mixed coal, and an inert content of ≤20%, is crushed to obtain a size distribution wherein the particles having a diameter of ≤3mm amount fo ≤90%. The crushed coal is mixed with a low-fluidity coal and crushed again to attain the required particle size distribution wherein the particle having a diameter of ≤3mm amount to 80W88%. The cost of the coal can be reduced.
