Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the wasteful consumption of ozone and to remove organic components up to value not more than control value by a mechanism wherein exhaust containing ozone from the first reaction tank is aerated into the second reaction tank while a pH regulating means and an injection means, etc. of hydrogen peroxide are mounted to the second reaction tank.
CONSTITUTION: Waste water is aerated with ozone by means of a disperser 7 in the first reaction tnak 1, and the ring breakage, etc. of aromatic cyclic, double and triple unions with groups with an electron supply property in a pollutant are advanced. The quantity of ozone fed at that time is set to the sum of quantities consumed at the first reaction tank 1 and the second reaction tank 3. The waste water is forwarded to the second reaction tank 3, the pH of the waste water is adjusted to neutrality or alkalinity, and a fixed quantity of hydrogen peroxide is added. Exhaust containing ozone introduced from the first reaction tank 1 is aerated with ozone by means of a disperser 9. Thus, the oxidative degradation of residual ozone reactive substance and indecomposable substance is advanced by an HO radical, and the TOD, TOC, COD, etc. of disposed water are easily reduced up to the regulated value.
