Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a photo-charging battery having a large photo-charging capacity because of improved photo-charging efficiency accomplished by increased halogen uptake, by using polyacetylene or polythiazyl as the halogen uptake body. CONSTITUTION:One side of a conductor layer 1 is covered with a silver halide layer 2. (The conductive layer is a transparent or translucent layer of a proper thickness formed by vacuum depositing or sputter depositing an oxide e.g., tin oxide, iridium oxide, etc. or a metal e.g., gold, platinum, palladium, etc.) The silver halide layer 2 is laminated with a thin layer 3 of polyacetylene or polythiazyl and a conductor layer 4. The polyacetylene thin film is formed from acetylene using a Ziegler catalyst solution of high concentration or by glow discharge. The polythiazyl thin film is formed by vacuum deposition of polythiazyl single crystals or polycrystals.
