Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to promptly sample the volatile component in liquid by using a water-repulsive tube of porous partition.
CONSTITUTION: A tube 1 of porous partition of tetrafluoroethylene is dipped in a test liquid 4 and has its one end communicating with a carrier gas inlet pipe 2 and its other end a carrier gas outlet pipe 3 leading to a gas concentration meter such as gaschromatograph. Upon connection, if the tube can be freely removed, its interchange and rinse are advantageous. In the case of a long outlet pipe, the gases saturated due to the reduction in the temperature may become liquid droplets. The generation of these droplets can be prevented by heating the outlet passage of the carrier gases with hot water or an electric heater. Thus, the sampling operation can be performed accurately within a short time period.
