PURPOSE:To make operation and maintenance easy by separating solution containing an inflammable and volatile ingredient from carrier gas by a gas diffusion membrane and detecting the inflammable and volatile ingredient which is diffusing into the carrier gas with a semiconductor gas detecting element. CONSTITUTION:To a jar-fermenter 1 of 10l is added 5l of water, then the temperature is maintained at 33 deg.C by a thermostatic vessel 2. A liquid-repellent porous tube 10 made of polytetrafluoroethylene is inserted into the jar-fermenter 1, and both the ends of the tube are connected to a gas inlet tube 11 and a outlet tube 12.
