Abstract

PURPOSE: To lengthen real measuring time and increase the number of measuring points when measuring the absorbance of chemical constitutents of blood serum to automatically and chemically analyze the constituents, by controlling the temperature of a constant-temperature liquid and compensating the fall in liquid temperature of a sample, which takes place by the time when the sample is introduced into a flow cell.
CONSTITUTION: Blood serum samples and a reaction reagent are put into smaple containing reaction tubes 6 mounted at a prescribed spacing on an endless belt 5. The sample and the reagent are caused to react with each other while they are miantained at a prescribed temperature in a constant-temperature liquid W. The reaction-finished liquid sample is sucked up by a suction tube 8 and conducted into a flow cell 9. The absorbance of the sample is determined by a photometer 14 to measure the chemical constituents of the blood serum. At that time, the temperature of the external air is measured by a thermometer 41. The detection output of the thermometer is applied to a temperature controller 42 for a heater 4 to raise the temperature of the constant-temperature liquid W to a level to compensate the fall in the temperature of the sample liquid, which takes place by the time when the sample liquid is conducted to the flow cell 9.
