Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the copying performance similar to Carlson process even at the single color copying by performing image exposure by way of a filter in the case of performing single color copying process by using composite photoreceptor.
CONSTITUTION: Image exposure is performed through a filter FB. Then, a photoreceptor 1 is exposed by the light removed of, e.g., B-color light component from the white color light and only the photoconductive layer is made conductive by the A-color light component out of these and the attenuation of the charging potential thereof becomes like the curve 2-2. On the other hand, the photoconductive layer 12 behaves as an insulator without being made conductive. Hence, the surface potentials of the photoreceptor 1 attenuates like the curve 4-1 in the exposure part and this turns out that the sensitivity of the photoreceptor 1 is effectively improved for the black-and-white image exposure. In this way, the sensitivity of the composite photoreceptor in which there are virtually no photosensitivity differences between the respective photoconductive layers 11, 12 may be effectively improved at the copying of black-and-white images. Hence, even at the single color copying, the copying performance similar to Carlson process may be obtained.
