Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the intensity of a laser beam, which is deflected into an oval shape, by receiving the laser beam, while dividing it into two perpendicular components, with two transparent mirrors, and by converting the same into electric signals so that they may be composed. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 2, which is polarized into an oval shape and comes from an osicllator 1, is emitted in the direction of X axis so that it is partially reflected by a trasparent mirror 3 in the direction of Y axis at a right angle to the optical axis and then is converted into electric signals by power meter 5. Likewise, the beam 2 is partially reflected in the Z direction and converted into electric signals by a power meter 8. A calculating device 9 composed the electric vectors of the reflected beams 4 and 7 fed from the meters 5 and 8 at a right angle into detected signals. By presetting the proportional constant between the detected signals and the laser beam 2, the intensisty of the beam can be detected.
