Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the energy of a laser pulse having a narrow pulse width and a large beam diameter by means of a comparatively simple device by a method wherein a slight part of the laser pulse energy is separated to be diffused and the part of the scattered light is converted into photoelectrons. CONSTITUTION:The part of a laser pulse beam 1 picked up through a beam splitter 2 is scattered into space through a diffusion plate 3 and the part of the scattered light 4 is irradiated into a photoelectric converter 5 such as a PIN diode. The output of the photoelectric converter 5 is integrated by means of an integrator composed of a resistor 7 and a capacitor 8. The voltage charged in the capacitor 8 is detected through a voltage detecting circuit 10.
