Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible the accurate arc welding to be carried out, by automatically correcting the difference between the detected data for weld line and the weld-line-data memorized in the torch traveler, and also, by making automatically removable the detector while the welding work.
CONSTITUTION: When the contact 31 passes over the end of the parent metal 60, the contact is broken and the robot is stopped. This stip point is memorized in the coordinate data memory 80, and the computing unit 81 computes the data for a position upside by the tip radius R of the contact 31 from the stop point, on purpose to obtain the starting point of the weld line. The end point Pn of welding is computed from the memorized point P1 and the welding point ln memorized in the weld- line-length-instructing-data-memory 72. Then, the welding instruction is compiled from this starting point of weld line and control instruction memorized in the welding-sequence-program-memory 73, and the result is memorized in the welding- program-memory 82. After these procedures are repeated for all weld lines, the welding detector 24 is removed from the clamp. Hereby, the difference between the actual weld line and the instructed weld line can be automatically corrected, so that the arc welding can be carried out accurately.
