Abstract
PURPOSE:To irradiate a recording material with energy beams, such as laser light and to enable high sensitivity recording, by providing a specified porous layer and a speficied layer of low melting point substance. CONSTITUTION:On substrate 1, such as a polyester film preferably 1-10mu thick porous layer 2 is formed consisting of a material, such as cocondensed polyester of good trans-parency and softening point above 150 deg.C, and having a plurality of vacant holes 2a. On this layer a layer 3 of a low melting poing substance, such as polyvinylacetate is formed in a thickness of 0.01-10mu. At that time, it is desirable that a substance absorbing infrared ray and transmit the visible light is dispersed. Irradiation of such recording material with laser light 5 allows the low melting point substance irradiated to melt by heating, and to fill holes 2a of layer 2, thus permitting the parts of layer 2 corresponding to the irradiated parts to become transparent and light 6 for reading to be transmitted.
