Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity of a recording layer in case of write by a laser beam, by providing a light absorption layer for positively absorbing a light beam which has passed through a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The substrate 1 is formed by a coloring matter having a light absorptive property, for instance, epoxy resin which has been made to contain carbon black of 5-10% and has been colored in black, and it is used as a light absorption layer, too. Also, a recording layer 3 is formed by vacuum-evaporating tellurium of 500Angstrom or so on the substrate 1. When a laser beam 4 is irradiated on the optical disk, a light beam which has penetrated the recording layer 3 is absorbed by the substrate which serves as the light absorption layer 2, as well, a flow to the substrate 1 side from the recording layer 3 which has become a high temperature by heating at the part itself which has absorbed said light beam is reduced, and the pit 5 is formed exactly by increasing the sensitivity by said portion. According to such a constitution, it is possible to increase the sensitivity of a recording layer at the time of write by a laser beam.
