Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of discharged dry-distillation residues, by providing a dry-distillation residue combustion zone under an air-shut-off vertical dry-distillation furnace to burn the residues by supplying air to the combustion zone. CONSTITUTION:Garbage is introduced into the top of the dry-distillation furnace 11 so that the garbage falls in the furnace. The garbage is dried by distillation while it is insulated from air by next-introduced garbage. At that time, the inflammable constituents of the garbage are pyrolyzed. As a result, the garbage changes into the residues. The residues falls into the residue combustion zone 21 as the temperature of the residues is about 800 deg.C. Air is supplied to the residues in the combustion zone so that the residues are burned to ash. The quantity of the dry-distillation residues is equal to one eighth of that of the introduced garbage. The quantity of the ash is equal to one third of that of the residues. Thus, the quantity of the discharged residues is greatly reduced. Inflammable gas is produced from the garbage with high efficiency.
