PURPOSE: To carry out the continuous carbonization of the titled wastes, etc. without using auxiliary fuel after start-up, by burning the raw material and a part of the carbonized product in a carbonization furnace, thereby vigorously generating the carbonization gas and maintaining the temperature.
CONSTITUTION: The raw material and a part of the carbonization product are burnt in a carbonization furnace 18 furnished with a screw conveyor 19 in the furnace to generate the carbonization gas vigorously, and then the feed of the fuel is stopped. The carbonization temperature in the furnace is controlled higher at the lower stage, and the furnace and the gas combustion chamber are kept at a necessary temperature. The combustion gas of 500W600°C is sent from the combustion chamber to the first drying tower 9 to heat the raw material for carbonization. The heated raw material is transferred to the second drying tower 12, in which it is dried to a water-content of 0W5% by another blower and the heat of the combustion gas. The dried material is charged to the upper stage of the screw conveyor 19 in the carbonization chamber 18, and carbonized. By this process, sawdust, barks, and other industrial vegetable wastes, etc. having high water-content and salt-content can be carbonized continuously without using an auxiliary fuel after start-up.
