Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a directional coupler which can minimizes the size of the coupling line and can reduce occurrence of the higher-order mode through the constitution in which plural pairs of coupling lines are connected in parallel. CONSTITUTION:The directional coupler for feeding the transmission antenna consists of central conductor 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the coaxial feeder, branch line 5, 6, 7 and 8, coupling strip line 9, 10, 11 and 12 coupling to the branch lines, and partition plate 13 to prevent the coupling between branch line 5 and 7 as well as between 6 and 8. Thus, the strip lines are divided into two pairs to secure coupling between 9 and 11 as well as between 10 and 12, and so the power passing through lines 9-12 can be reduced down to 1/2 with the reduced size of the strip line. As a result, the occurrence of the higher-order mode can be reduced at the high frequency band with the increased power capacity.
