Abstract
896,707. Strip-line couplings. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. Jan. 9, 1959 [Jan. 16, 1958], No. 930/59. Class 40(8). A H.F. strip transmission line hybrid junction comprises two lengths 1-4, 2-3 of strip conductor which are substantially identically bent so that each of the lengths has two oppositely directed bends with a rectilinear portion therebetween, the lengths being arranged back-to-back with the rectilinear portions superimposed over their lengths and separated by a solid dielectric layer to provide coupling. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 9, a hybrid junction 101, 102, 103 of the form shown in Fig. 6, 7 or 8 is situated in a dielectric 104 between two conductor strips 105 parallel to the conductor parts 101 and 102, each of which forms with the strips 105 a three strip line. It is stated that with the arrangement described it is practicable to reduce lack of balance between the two output paths to less than 0.4dB for the frequency band of 8,500 to 9,600 mc/s.
