Abstract
734,871. Magnetrons. RAYTHEON MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 2, 1953 [June 14, 1952], No. 2956/53. Class 39 (1). In a strapped multi-cavity magnetron the straps are distorted at regions in the neighbourhood of 45 and 225 degrees on either side of the output coupling in order to orientate the two components of a doublet mode adjacent the #-mode at a position, Fig 3b, where they couple equally to the output coupling 25. The components are shifted from a position, Fig. 3a, where a loosely coupled component would tend to build up at the expense of the #-mode. The straps may be bent upwards or downwards at the selected regions. Specification 654,648 is referred to.
