Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively recover waste heat of cooling water by feeding P2O5-contg. combustion gas obtd. by burning phosphorus with dry air to a cooling part to generate steam from cooling water and introducing the cooled combustion gas into a hydration chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Liquid phosphorus is sprayed into combustion furnace 7 with burner 16, and air for combustion is fed to furnace 7 with fan 18 through dehumidifier 19. P2O5-contg. combustion gas of about 2000°C obtd. by burning in furnace 7 is cooled to about 1200°C with cooling wall 8 of furnace 7, further cooled to above a temp. at which P2O5 begins to solidify with a group of convection evaporator tubes 17, and introduced into a hydration chamber of the next process from boiler outlet 20. Water is introduced into steam drum 12 from piping 13 and supplied to furnace 7, cooling wall 8 surrounding tubes 17, and tubes 17 through circulation pump 11 and water falling pipe 10 to cool the combustion gas and recover heat, whereby the water is turned to a mixt. of steam and water, and refluxed to drum 12. The steam alone is taken out from main steam piping 14 and used effectively.
