Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent generation of white smoke, by carrying dehumidified combustion gas to a gas-liquid directly contacted, alternating flow type gas cooling and dehumidifying tower, then carrying high-temperature liquid and cooled, dehumidified gas produced in the tower to an indirect heat exchanger, and thereafter cooling the liquid in an aeration type cooling tower.
CONSTITUTION: Wet exhaust gas from a boiler 1 is carried via exhaust-smoke desulfurizing means 2 to a gas-liquid directly contacted, alternating flow type gas cooling and dehumidifying tower 5 by means of a blower 3. In the tower 5, exhaust gas is cooled and dehumidified through contact with cooling water supplied from water spraying pipes 7 at filled section 6, and then carried from outlet 8 to an indirect heat exchanger 9. Cooling liquid, on the other hand, causes a heat transfer and msss transfer sufficiently in the tower 5 and is dropped therein while raising its temperature gradually. The high-temperature cooling liquid is cooled for re- utilization. That is, it is carried at first to the heat exchanger 9 by a pump 10 for exchanging heat with the dehumidified air, and then the liquid is carried to aeration type cooling tower 12. Liquid thus cooled a in tower 12 is again supplied to the gas cooling tower 5.
