Abstract

PURPOSE: To simply improve the power factor of an ozonizer by providing a DC smoothing series reactor for improvdng power factor between an ononizer and a boosting transformer applying AC high voltage to the ozonizer.
CONSTITUTION: DC smoothing series reactor 16 for improving power factor is connected to boosting transformer 2, in series, which applies AC high voltage between grounded electrode 6 and high voltage side electrode 9 opposite to each other with dielectric 7 and discharge space 8 in-between. Reactor 16 forms a series resonance circuit together with the equivalent capacitor load of ozonizer 1, and it acts as a filter to higher harmonic currents other than the standard waves of a current flowing to ozinizer 1. The change of power factor values at the input and output ends of reactor 16 against the change of the value of reactor 16 is prepresented by power factor curve 17 of the input side of reactor 16 after improvement and power factor curve 18 of the output side in case power factor cos θ and capacity PSL of reactor 16 are read along the longitudinal and lateral axes, respectively.
