Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the stable operation of an inverter without reducing efficiency by a method wherein a capacitor of a commutation circuit of the inverter is charged at approximately fixed value by using a boosting chopper. CONSTITUTION:A commutation circuit of an inverter 12 is charged by voltage Ed from a DC power source 10 by means of a boosting chopper 11. The commutation capacity of the inverter 12 is kept at approximately fixed value without depending upon the sharp variation of the DC voltage Ed in the inverter 12. The boosting chopper 11 may have the little capacity of about 1/10-1/20 of the inverter 12 as the chopper because the boosting chopper 11 is used only for the commutation circuit.
