CONSTITUTION:A capacitor 14 having capacitance C is connected in parallel to a load 12 containing an inductance L0 and a resistance r0, and a reactor 18 of an inductance L is connected in series between the capacitor 14 and an AC power supply 10. The phase difference psi is obtained from an equationIfor a circuit having such constitution as mentioned above. Accordingly, tanphi varies like an equation II to the variation of the inductance L0 within the load 12. Both the capacitance C and the inductance L are decided so that the right sides of both the equationsIand II are set substantially zero. As a result, the fluctuation of a power factor can be extremely reduced with respect to the fluctuation of the load.
