【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、粘度安定性に予想
外の改善を示し、潤滑油、油圧油、誘電性液体、冷却剤
又は熱伝達媒体として特に有用なある種のシリコーン有
機物ブレンドに関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術及び発明が解決しようとする課題】異なっ
た液体は、温度変化による異なった割合の粘度変化を有
する。粘度指数（ＶＩ）は、この特性が非常に異なる２
つの任意に選択された種類の油の変化の相対的割合の比
較に基づいて、この変化の数値を適用する方法である。
高いＶＩは温度による比較的低い割合の粘度変化を示
す。低いＶＩは温度による比較的高い割合の粘度変化を
示す。粘度指数を計算するための標準的な方法は、ＡＳ
ＴＭＤ２２７０により詳しく記載されている。
【０００３】潤滑剤、油圧油、絶縁油、又は冷却剤とし
て使用するためにはどんな液体であれ、１つの主要な性
能特性は、低温での優れた流動特性及び高温での安定
性、即ち、高いＶＩを持つことである。
【０００４】シリコーンはＶＩが３００又はそれ以上と
いう高い粘度指数を持つ。これに比べて、シクロパラフ
ィン潤滑油はＶＩが１５であり、パラフィン潤滑油はＶ
Ｉが１００である。
【０００５】いずれにせよ、シリコーンが持つ高いＶＩ
にも拘わらず、上記の多数の用途において、シリコーン
及びシリコーン有機物ブレンドの粘度安定性の改善の需
要が未だ残っている。
【０００６】本発明シリコーン有機物ブレンドの粘度安
定性は、例えば油圧油、ギヤオイル、タービン循環油、
冷凍機油、圧縮機油、真空ポンプ油、ブレーキ液及び制
動媒体としてのそれらの使用を含む一般的な工業的潤滑
剤用途にそれらの価値を高める。電気装置において、こ
れらシリコーン有機物ブレンドは、対流式又は強制循環
式コンデンサ及びトランスにおける誘電性液（ｄｉｅｌ

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、（Ａ）粘度が
２０〜１００センチストークス（mm2/ｓ）のポリシロキ
サン８５〜８８．５ｗｔ％；及び（Ｂ）粘度が２００〜
３０，０００センチストークス（mm2/ｓ）（この明細書
において、粘度及び粘度上昇は、特に断らない限り２５
℃で測定したものである。）のポリシロキサン１．５〜
５．０ｗｔ％のブレンドである組成物に関する。このブ
レンドされた１００％までの残りは、（Ｃ）減摩性向上
剤、消泡剤及び腐食防止剤を含む有機添加物パッケージ

センチストークス（mm2/ｓ）のポリジメチルシロキサン

２５０センチストークス（mm2/ｓ）のブレンドを与え
る。しかしながら、圧縮機用途には、ポリシロキサン

あるが、ポリシロキサン（Ａ）は多分散度が１．５より

平均を測定する方法は、他のポリマーについてと同じで

【００３１】本発明組成物は、標準的な混合及びブレン
ディング装置、例えばバッチミキサー、チェンジカンミ
キサー、ステーショナリータンクミキサー（ｓｔａｔｉ
ｏｎａｒｙ−ｔａｎｋ ｍｉｘｅｒｓ）、二本腕混練
機、バンバリー（商標）ミキサー、ロール練り機、コロ
イドミル、プロペラミキサー、タービンミキサー（ｔｕ
ｒｂｉｎｅ ｍｉｘｅｒｓ）、又はホモジナイジングミ
キサー（ｈｏｍｏｇｅｎｉｚｉｎｇ ｍｉｘｅｒｓ）を
用いて、ＰＤＭＳ液体及び有機添加剤パッケージを混合
し、冷間ブレンディングすることにより調製される。混
合は、室温（２０〜２５℃／６８〜７７°Ｆ）で行われ
る。これらの成分はどんな順序で混合してもよい。混合
の時間は混合装置によって変化するが、平均して最小４
〜６時間必要である。少量の組成物を短時間で作るため
の簡単な混合方法は、諸成分を空のドラムに入れ、この
ドラムをドラムローラー上で回転することである。
【００３２】（例１）種々の量の多分散度１．３３の２
０mm2/ｓポリジメチルシロキサン（ＰＤＭＳ）液体を、
それぞれ粘度が２００mm2/ｓ；３５０mm2/ｓ；５００mm
2/ｓ；１０００mm2/ｓ；５０００mm2/ｓ；１０，０００
mm2/ｓ；及び３０，０００mm2/ｓの種々の量のＰＤＭＳ
液体と冷間ブレンディングすることにより、多分散度が
１．５より大きく、粘度が２５〜３０mm2/ｓの一連のＰ
ＤＭＳ液体を調製した。これらのＰＤＭＳブレンドを表
１に示す。この表における「ＰＤ」は、多分散度の略語
である。例を挙げれば、本発明者等は、多分散度２．１
０５の２００mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ液体４．７１ｗｔ％を、多
分散度１．３３の２０mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ液体８５．２１ｗ
ｔ％とブレンドし、粘度が２５．６mm2/ｓで多分散度が
１．５１３のブレンドされたＰＤＭＳ液体を得た。
【００３３】この有機添加剤パッケージを含むブレンド
されたＰＤＭＳ液体を、１００℃の炉中で１４日老化さ
せたとき、２週間後の粘度上昇（ＶＲ）は、ほんの０．
７９mm2/ｓであった。ここで、及び表１の他のブレンド
で、１００％にするのに使用された有機添加剤パッケー
ジは、５〜１５ｗｔ％の潤滑向上剤；２〜３０ppm の消
泡剤；及び０．０００５〜１．０ｗｔ％の腐食防止剤か
らなっていた。
【００３４】潤滑向上剤はジ−２−エチルヘキシルクロ
レンデートであり；消泡剤はペルフルオロアルキルポリ
エーテル、ＫＲＹＴＯＸ（商標）（Ｅ．Ｉ．ＤｕＰｏｎ
ｔｄｅ Ｎｅｍｏｕｒｓ ａｎｄ Ｃｏｍｐａｎｙ，Ｗ
ｉｌｍｉｎｇｔｏｎ，Ｄｅｌａｗａｒｅ製造）であり；
そして腐食防止添加剤は灯油中のアルキル燐酸アミンで
ＡＦＡ−１TM（Ｅ．Ｉ．ＤｕＰｏｎｔ ｄｅ Ｎｅｍｏ
ｕｒｓ ａｎｄ Ｃｏｍｐａｎｙ，Ｗｉｌｍｉｎｇｔｏ
ｎ，Ｄｅｌａｗａｒｅ製造）として販売されているもの
であった。
【００３５】他の例として、多分散度２．０８１の１０
００mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ液体２．６７ｗｔ％を、多分散度
１．３３の２０mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ液体８７．２５ｗｔ％と
ブレンドし、粘度が２６．２mm2/ｓで多分散度が１．６
３のブレンドされたＰＤＭＳ液体を得た。上述の有機添
加剤パッケージを含むブレンドされたＰＤＭＳ液体を１
００℃の炉中で１４日老化させたとき、２週間後の粘度
上昇（ＶＲ）は、ほんの０．５６mm2/ｓであった。
【００３６】これらＰＤＭＳ液体及びブレンドの動粘度
は、サンプルの一定体積が目盛りを付けたガラス毛管を
重力流で通過するのに要した時間を測定することにより
決定した。この方法は、Ａｍｅｒｉｃａｎ Ｓｏｃｉｅ
ｔｙ Ｆｏｒ Ｔｅｓｔｉｎｇ Ａｎｄ Ｍａｔｅｒｉ
ａｌｓ（ＡＳＴＭ），Ｐｈｉｌａｄｅｌｐｈｉａ，Ｐｅ
ｎｎｓｙｌｖａｎｉａ，ＡＳＴＭ Ｄ４４５−９４，
“Ｓｔａｎｄａｒｄ Ｔｅｓｔ Ｍｅｔｈｏｄ ｆｏｒ
Ｋｉｎｅｍａｔｉｃ Ｖｉｓｃｏｓｉｔｙ ｏｆ Ｔ
ｒａｎｓｐａｒｅｎｔ ａｎｄ Ｏｐａｑｕｅ Ｌｉｑ
ｕｉｄｓ（ｔｈｅＣａｌｃｕｌａｔｉｏｎ ｏｆ Ｄｙ
ｎａｍｉｃ Ｖｉｓｃｏｓｉｔｙ）に基づく。ＰＤＭＳ
液体及びブレンドの多分散度（ＰＤ）即ちＭw ／Ｍ
n は、標準ゲル透過クロマトグラフィー（ＧＰＣ）分析
により測定した。即ち、混合床カラムを、一連の狭い分
子量分布の与えられた組成物、即ち、ポリスチレンにつ
いてのピーク保持時間を測定することにより検量した。
【００３７】分析用サンプルを、トルエン中のＰＤＭＳ
液体又はブレンドの０．２５重量／容量％溶液として調
製した。保持時間を記録し；標準クロマトグラフィーソ
フトウェアパッケージを用いて、Ｍn 、Ｍn 、及びＭz
の値を計算し；結果を標準に対する比較によって実証し
た。以下の表において、センチストークス及びｃｓはmm
2/ｓと同じものである。

【００３９】理想的には、粘度上昇がないのが望まし
い。しかしながら、本発明者等は、表１に示したシリコ
ーン有機物ブレンドの粘度上昇はこれらブレンドに使用
されるシリコーン液体の多分散度を調節することによ
り、マイナスの粘度上昇が観察される点まで調節できる
ことを見いだした。即ち、少なくとも表１の特定のシリ
コーン有機物ブレンドについては、最適多分散度は１．
７の付近に存在する。
【００４０】（例２）比較のため、本発明者等は、圧縮
機液体潤滑用途に用いられ、同様の有機添加物パッケー
ジを含む４つの商業的５０mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ液体をランダ
ムに選んだ。４つのロットの５０mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ液体の
多分散度をＧＰＣで測定したところ、１．３６４、１．
３９４、１．４７４、及び１．４７４である。有機添加
物パッケージを含む４ロットのＰＤＭＳ液体の各々を１
００℃の炉中で１４日熱老化させた。前記有機添加剤パ
ッケージを含む４ロットのＰＤＭＳ液体の２週間の粘度
上昇を測定したところ、表２に示すように、それぞれ
３．６４mm2/ｓ、２．９６mm2/ｓ、１．２９mm2/ｓ、及
び１．６６mm2/ｓであった。

【００４２】（例３）概して米国特許Ｎo.５，２２２，
８４７に記載されている構造を有し、１００℃で作動し
ているロータリースクリューコンプレッサーを用いて野
外試験を行った。このロータリースクリューコンプレッ
サーに潤滑を与え、そしてその運動部品を冷却するため
に使用した液体は、表１に示され、２０mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ
液体及び３５０mm2/ｓＰＤＭＳ液体からブレンドされ、
多分散度が１．５９である、タイプのＰＤＭＳ液体であ
った。
【００４３】この液体も上述のタイプの有機添加物パッ
ケージを含んでいた。例２の商業的な５０mm2/ｓポリジ
メチルシロキサン液体と較べれば、本発明の組成物は、
本発明の潤滑剤の粘度は試験の間を通して一定に維持さ
れる程度に、改善された粘度安定性を与えることを本発
明者等は見いだした。

Claims (4)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 次の（Ａ）〜（Ｃ）のブレンドを含む組
    成物であって：（Ａ）粘度が２０〜１００mm2/ｓのポリ
    シロキサン少なくとも８５ｗｔ％；（Ｂ）粘度が２００
    〜３０，０００mm2/ｓのポリシロキサン１．５〜５．０
    ｗｔ％；（但し、ポリシロキサン（Ａ）及びポリシロキ
    サン（Ｂ）のブレンドの多分散度は１．５を超える）；
    並びに（Ｃ）減摩性向上剤、消泡剤、及び腐食防止剤を
    含む添加剤；この組成物はＡＳＴＭ Ｄ４４５−９４で
    測定して、１００℃の炉中で１４日老化させたときこの
    組成物の粘度上昇が１mm2/ｓ未満であり；ポリシロキサ
    ン（Ａ）及び（Ｂ）は次式で示される構造を有し： 【化１】 （ここに、ｎはポリシロキサン（Ａ）及び（Ｂ）に２５
    ℃の粘度それぞれ２０〜１００mm2/ｓ及び２００〜３
    ０，０００mm2/ｓを与え、Ｒ1 及びＲ2 は炭素原子数１
    〜６のアルキル基又はアリール基であり）；最終組成物
    が２５℃の粘度２０〜２５０mm2/ｓを有する前記組成
    物。
  2. 【請求項２】 油圧系統中に閉じ込められた請求項１に
    記載の組成物に圧力をかけることを含む動力伝達方法。
  3. 【請求項３】 機械的、電気的、又は電気機械的装置中
    に請求項１の組成物を循環し又は再循環することを含
    む、当該装置を潤滑し又は冷却する方法。
  4. 【請求項４】 電気装置中に請求項１の組成物を誘電性
    冷却剤又は絶縁媒体として利用することを含む当該装置
    を冷却し又は絶縁する方法。
