Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.調停用の第1のバス構成と一方向データ転送用の第2のバス構成を備える、 複数のローカル・ホストを相互接続する通信システムにおいて、 それぞれ、アービタと、データ・バスと、複数のポートとを含む複数のノード と、 前記ノードがポイント・ツー・ポイント・リンク自体で結合されたツリー・ト ポロジーを有するように、それぞれ、第1のノード中の前記ポートのうちの第1 のポートを第2の異なるノード中の前記ポートのうちの第2のポートに結合する 複数のポイント・ツー・ポイント・リンクと、 それぞれ、バス・アクセスを調停し、データを受信し、データを送信する前記 ノードのうちの1つに結合された複数のローカル・ホストとを備え、 前記第1のバス構成で、アービタが前記ポート上で調停メッセージを送受信す るように前記ポートに結合され、前記第2のバス構成で、ポートがそれ自体上で データを選択的に送受信するようにデータ・バスに結合されることを特徴とする 通信システム。 2.各ノードがさらに、 前記アービタに応答して、前記アービタ中の各ノードをアービタとデータ・バ スのうちの一方に選択的に結合するマルチプレクサを備えることを特徴とする請 求項1に記載の通信システム。 3.少なくとも1つの前記ポイント・ツー・ポイント・リンクが、第1の信号を 送信する第1の信号線と、第2の信号を送信する第2の信号線とを有するコネク タ・ケーブルを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の通信システム。 4.前記コネクタ・ケーブルがさらに、ノード間で電力を送る第1の電力線を備 えることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の通信システム。 5.コネクタ・ケーブルに結合された各ポートが、送信機と受信機とを有するト ランシーバを備え、前記第1の信号が前記送信機に結合され、前記第2の信号が 前記受信機に結合されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の通信システム。 6.各ノードがさらに、 それぞれ、前記アービタに応答して、前記ノード中の各ポート中の受信機をア ービタとデータ・バスのうちの一方に選択的に結合する複数の第2のマルチプレ クサと、 それぞれ、前記アービタに応答して、前記ノード中の各ポート中の送信機をア ービタとデータ・バスのうちの一方に選択的に結合する複数の第2のマルチプレ クサとを備えることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の通信システム。 7.少なくとも1つのノード中のデータ・バスが、 前記ポートにデータを供給するために前記第2のマルチプレクサに結合された 送信バスと、 前記ポートからデータを受信するために前記第1のマルチプレクサに結合され た受信バスと、 受信バスを送信バスに結合する結合手段とを備えることを特徴とする請求項6 に記載の通信システム。 8.結合手段がリピータ回路を含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の通信ノー ド。 9.リピータ回路が、データを再同期させる手段を含むことを特徴とする請求項 8に記載の通信ノード。 10.コネクタ・ケーブルに結合された各ポートが、送信機と受信機とを有する 第1のトランシーバと、送信機と受信機とを有する第2のトランシーバとを備え 、前記第1の信号が前記第1のトランシーバに結合され、前記第2の信号が前記 第2のトランシーバに結合されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の通信システ ム。 11.アービタが、各前記トランシーバを通過する信号フローの方向を制御する ために前記第1および第2のトランシーバに結合されたトランシーバ制御論理を 含むことを特徴とする請求項10に記載の通信システム。 12.各ノードがさらに、 それぞれ、前記アービタに応答して、前記ノード中の各ポート中の第1のトラ ンシーバをアービタとデータ・バスのうちの一方に選択的に結合する、複数の第 2のマルチプレクサと、 それぞれ、前記アービタに応答して、前記ノード中の各ポート中の第2のトラ ンシーバをアービタとデータ・バスのうちの一方に選択的に結合する、複数の第 2のマルチプレクサとを備えることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の通信システ ム。 13.少なくとも1つのノード中のデータ・バスが、 前記ポートにデータを供給するために前記第2のマルチプレクサに結合された 送信バスと、 前記ポートからデータを受信するために前記第1のマルチプレクサに結合され た受信バスと、 受信バスを送信バスに結合する結合手段とを備えることを特徴とする請求項1 2に記載の通信システム。 14.結合手段がリピータ回路を含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の通信 ノード。 15.リピータ回路が、データを再同期させる手段を含むことを特徴とする請求 項14に記載の通信ノード。 16.それぞれ、ポイント・ツー・ポイント・リンクで少なくとも1つの他のノ ードに結合されている複数の類似のノード間の調停およびデータ送信を実行する とともに、バスが、調停用の単一論理バスと見える第1のバス構成と、一方向デ ータ送信向けに構成される第2のバス構成とを有する通信ノードにおいて、 それぞれ、1つの前記ポイント・ツー・ポイント通信リンクに結合され、受信 機と送信機とを含むトランシーバを有する複数の通信ポートと、 各前記通信ポートに結合されたアービタと、 各通信ポートに結合されたデータ・バスとを備え、 前記第1のバス構成で、アービタが前記ポート上で調停メッセージを送受信す るように前記ポートに結合され、前記第2のバス構成で、ポートそれ自体上でデ ータを選択的に送受信するようにデータ・バスに結合されることを特徴とする通 信システム。 17.さらに、 それぞれ、1つの前記受信機に結合され、かつデータ・バスとアービタのうち の一方に前記受信機を結合するものとして前記アービタによって選択される複数 の第1のマルチプレクサと、 それぞれ、1つの前記送信機に結合され、かつデータ・バスとアービタのうち の一方に前記送信機を結合するものとして前記アービタによって選択される複数 の第2のマルチプレクサとを備えることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の通信ノ ード。 18.データ・バスが、 前記ポートにデータを供給するためにローカル・ホストおよび前記第2のマル チプレクサに結合された送信バスと、 前記ポートからデータを受信するためにローカル・ホストおよび前記第1のマ ルチプレクサに結合された受信バスと、 受信バスを送信バスに結合する結合手段とを備えることを特徴とする請求項1 7に記載の通信ノード。 19.結合手段がリピータ回路を含むことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の通信 ノード。 20.リピータ回路が、データを再同期させる手段を含むことを特徴とする請求 項19に記載の通信ノード。 21.それぞれ、ローカル・ホストに結合され、第1の信号を送信する第1の信 号線と第2の信号を送信する第2の信号線とを有するポイント・ツー・ポイント ・リンクで少なくとも1つの他のノードに結合される複数の類似のノード間の調 停およびデータ送信を実行するとともに、バスが、調停用の単一の論理バスに見 える第1のバス構成と、バスが一方向データ送信向けに構成される第2のバス構 成とを形成してい通信ノードにおいて、 それぞれ、第1の信号線および第2の信号線に結合され、それぞれ、第1の信 号線に結合された受信機と第2の信号線に結合された送信機とを含むトランシー バを有する複数の通信ポートと、 前記ポートを通過する信号フローの方向を制御するようにローカル・ホストお よび各前記通信ポートに結合されたアービタと、 前記ポートにデータを供給するためにローカル・ホストおよび前記ポートに結 合された送信バスと、 前記ポートからデータを受信するためにローカル・ホストおよび前記ポートに 結合された受信バスと、 受信バスと送信バスの間に結合されたデータ・リピータ回路と、 それぞれ、1つの前記受信機に結合され、かつ受信バスとアービタのうちの一 方に前記受信機を結合するものとして前記アービタによって選択される複数の第 1のマルチプレクサと、 それぞれ、1つの前記送信機に結合され、かつ送信バス、受信バス、およびア ービタのうちの1つに前記送信機を結合するものとして前記アービタによって選 択される複数の第2のマルチプレクサとを備え、 前記第1のバス構成で、アービタが前記ポート上で調停メッセージを送受信す るように前記ポートに結合され、前記第2のバス構成で、ポートがそれ自体上で データを選択的に送受信するようにデータ・バスに結合されることを特徴とする 通信ノード。 22.それぞれ、ローカル・ホストに結合され、第1の信号を送信する第1の信 号線と第2の信号を送信する第2の信号線とを有する通信リンクで少なくとも1 つの他のノードにも結合される複数の類似のノード間の調停およびデータ送信を 実行するとともに、バスが、調停用の単一の論理バスと見える第1のバス構成と 、バスが一方向並列データ送信向けに構成される第2のバス構成とからなる通信 ノードにおいて、 それぞれ、第1の信号線および第2の信号線に結合され、それぞれ、第1の信 号線に結合され、第1の受信機と第1の送信機とを含む第1のトランシーバを有 し、第2の信号線に結合され第2の受信機と第2の送信機とを含む第2のトラン シーバをも有する複数の通信ポートと、 ローカル・ホストに結合され、ノードの各ポート上の第1および第2の信号線 上の信号に応答する調停制御論理機構を含む、アービタと、 ローカル・ホストに結合された第1の送信バスと、 ローカル・ホストに結合された第2の送信バスと、 ローカル・ホストに結合された第1の受信バスと、 ローカル・ホストに結合された第2の受信バスと、 第1の送信バスと第1の受信バスの間に結合された第1のデータ・リピータ回 路と、 第2の送信バスと第2の受信バスの間に結合された第2のデータ・リピータ回 路と、 それぞれ、ノード中の1つの前記第1のトランシーバに結合され、かつ第1の 受信バス、第1の送信バス、およびアービタのうちの1つに前記第1のトランシ ーバを結合するものとして選択できる、複数の第1のマルチプレクサと、 それぞれ、ノード中の1つの前記第2のトランシーバに結合され、かつ第2の 受信バス、第2の送信バス、およびアービタのうちの1つに前記第2のトランシ ーバを結合するものとして選択できる、複数の第2のマルチプレクサとを備え、 前記アービタが、前記第1および第2のマルチプレクサに結合され、さらに前 記マルチプレクサとの結合を選択するマルチプレクサ制御論理機構を含み、さら に、前記アービタが、第1および第2のトランシーバに結合され、各前記トラン シーバを通過する信号フローの方向を選択するトランシーバ制御論理機構を含む ことを特徴とする通信ノード。
