Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 （技術分野） 本発明は、動力付外科用器具を作動させる装置に関す
る。
（背景技術） 組織を切つたり削つたりする手術用チツプは、非常に異
なつた大きさや形状のものが使用されてきており、その
各々が個々の外科手術処理の夫々に対して設計される。
異なる外科用デバイスの最適作動の限度は異なり、例え
ば安全に動作するスピード及びトルクはデバイスによつ
て異なる。
一人の患者に対する外科処理が異なる特性の複数の外科
手術デバイスを必要とする場合、外科医は各デバイスに
対して別個の動力ユニツトを設けるか、あるいは、各デ
バイスの変化、多くの時間を要する操作、及び、器具に
損害を与え又は患者を傷つける可能性のある誤りの危険
を伴なう操作に対して中央ユニツトを適応させなければ
ならない。
（目的） 本発明の目的は、異なる動作上の制限を有する複数の外
科手術デバイスに使用でき、単一の駆動ユニツトで非常
に安全性を高め、スピードを上げそして便利さを高める
ことが可能な外科要装置を提供することである。
（発明の概要） 本発明によれば、異なる動作限度を有する一組の異なる
外科用デバイスを作動させるのに適合する単一モータ外
科用装置は、前記モータを収容し前記外科用デバイスの
各々の基部を交互に受け入れることができるハンドピー
スであつて、各外科用デバイスがその基部に動作限度を
示す指示器を有し、その指示を検知する自動検知装置を
含むハンドピースと、前記検知装置に応答し、ハンドピ
ースによつて受け入れられた各外科用デバイスに従つて
前記モータの作動限度を自動的に決定する装置と、から
構成される。
好適実施例においては、外科用装置は、前述の如く構成
される関節鏡検査ハンドピースと、異なる回転動作限度
を有する複数の取り外し可能な異なる回転チツプを受け
得る複数の外科用デバイスとを含み、各デバイスはその
一端で各回転チツプの真空通路に接続可能な真空通路を
有し、他端に近接する位置でハンドピースに関連の真空
通路に接続可能で、それによつて回転チツプにより取ら
れた組織が外科手術場所から取り除くことができる。外
科デバイスの指示器は、検知装置にデバイスが受け入れ
ることができるチツプの回転限度を示し、好適には真空
通路は外科デバイスに近接する位置からハンドピースを
通してハンドピースの基部端に近接する位置まで設けら
れ、そのハンドピースは真空通路を外部の吸入源に接続
し、それによつて回転チツプによつて取られる組織はハ
ンドパースを通して外科位置から摘出される。検知器
は、モータによつて加えられるトルクを制限し、モータ
の速度範囲を制限するよう調整される。そのモータは電
気的で関連する電源を有し、検知装置は所定の外科デバ
イスの指示器に応答して電源から送られる電力に対する
限度を設定する。好適には、検知装置はモータに加えら
れる電圧を制限するように応答し、モータはその電圧に
従つたスピードに維持されるように調整される。検知装
置はモータに供給される電流を制限するように応答し、
モータによつて与えられるトルクを制限する。一組の外
科デバイスの各々の表示器は、他のデバイスとは異なる
磁界を発生するようにされた磁石装置から成り、ハンド
ピース内の検知装置は、その磁界に応答してモータを各
動作限度に切換え、外科デバイスはその基部に磁石を含
み、ハンドピースは磁石の存在によつて作動する一組の
スイツチを含む。
（実施例の説明） 第１図において、本発明による関節鏡検査外科装置は、
ハンドピース10、各々所定の動作限度内での使用を意図
した外科デバイス12,14,16,コントローラ／パワー ユ
ニツト18及びフツト・コントロール装置50から構成され
る。また、後述するように、外科デバイスに選択的に取
りつけて使用する取りはずし可能な回転チツプが含まれ
る。
ハンドピース10は、モータ21及び末端凹部22を有し、そ
の凹部にはドライブ・シヤフト23が伸びている。凹部22
は、関連の外科デバイスの基部を堅固に受けとめるよう
な寸法及び形状を有する。
外科デバイスについては３種類のものが示される。シエ
イバ／カツタデバイス12は直径D1の軸穴13を有し、それ
に対応する外径を有する回転チツプを受け、速度範囲
R1、例えば約100rpmから約３回転／秒即ち200rpmで回転
させ、最大トルクT1、例えば28インチ・オンス（約2000
cm・ｇ）を得る。この外科デバイスに有効な回転チツプ
としては、例えばマサチユーセツツ,AndoverのDyonice
社製のシエイバ，カツタ及びトリマ・ブレード・アサン
ブリがある。これらは第１図に参照符号25,26及び27で
示してある。
関節形成／滑液摘出デバイス14は、直径D2の大きな軸穴
15を有し、それに対応する外径の回転チツプを受け、回
転速度範囲R2、例えば400〜1400rpmで、最大トルクT2、
例えば約28インチ・オンス（約2000cm・ｇ）で作動させ
る。この外科デバイスに有効な回転チツプとしては、例
えば前述のDyonics社製の研削器及び全半径滑膜切除ブ
レード アセンブリがある。これらは第１図に参照符号
28及び29で示してある。
小関節デバイス16は、直径D3の軸穴17を有し、前述のも
のと同様に回転チツプを受ける大きさ及び形状にしてあ
るが、限定された作動範囲の関節、例えば、くるぶし．
ひじ及び手首の関節に使用されるように小型である。こ
の回転チツプは参照符号30及び31で示してある。デバイ
ス16は、回転速度範囲R3、例えば約300〜1500rpmで最大
トルクT3、例えば約14インチ・オンス（約1000cm・ｇ）
で作動されることが望ましい。
各回転チツプは、切断エツジに近接するチツプの末端か
ら伸びる真空通路を設け、ドレーン・ケースとして作用
する関連の外科デバイスによつて設けられる真空通路に
回転チツプを通して排気する。ドレーン・ケースの真空
通路は、そのケースの側壁の出口39を通して側壁の符合
ポート38に接続され、そのポート38はホンドピース内に
設けられるドレーン管40に凹部を画定する。ハンドピー
スの基部端に近接して、ドレーン管はコネクタ42で終了
し、そのコネクタは外科処理場所から組織及び液体（分
泌液）を除去するため、例えば吸入出口（源）46からの
吸入ホース44に取りつけることができる。液体をハンド
ピースを通して基部端に導くことによつて、接続ホース
は電力コードとほぼ平行になり、外科医がハンドピース
を操作するとき吸入ホースによる妨害が最小限に抑えら
れる。
ハンドピース内において外科デバイスを受ける凹部を画
定する表面32に非常に近接して、端部作動ミニ・リード
・スイツチ34,34′から成るセンサが設けられる。外科
デバイスの各々の基部端面には、そのデバイスがハンド
ピースに組立てられるときセンサの位置と対向する選定
位置に磁石36,36′が設けられリードスイツチを作動さ
せる。外科デバイス内の磁石指示器は夫々所定のパター
ンに配列され、磁石位置に対向するスイツチの作動は、
外科装置の使用されるべきデバイスを示す。コントロー
ラ／パワーユニツトは、次にハンドピースに供給される
電力に対する制限を自動的に設定し、速度範囲及びトル
クを使用中の回転チツプの最適動作のための所定限度内
にする。これによつて、外科デバイス又はチツプに対す
る損傷の機会を減少させ、患者を傷つける危険を少なく
する。
ハンドピース10のモータ室は密封され、その中にリード
・スイツチが配置されて、圧熱滅菌によつてハンドピー
スを殺菌することを可能にする。外科デバイス及び回転
チツプも圧熱滅菌することができる。
第１図において、本発明の関節鏡検査外科装置を動作さ
せるためには、フツト・スイツチ50をコントローラ／パ
ワー ユニツト18の側面に図示するレセプタクルに接続
する。そして、モータ付ハンドピース10からのコード48
をユニツト18の側面のレセプタクル52に差し込む。（図
示のユニツトにおいては、Dyonics社の関節内部外科デ
バイス及び関節形成システムのためのモータ・ドライブ
・ユニツトはそれらをパワー・ユニツトのレセプタクル
54,56に接続することによつて動作させる。それらのレ
セプタクルは各モータ・ドライブ・ユニツトが正しいレ
セプタクルに挿入されている場合にのみ機能するように
設計されている。） コントローラ／パワー ユニツトの前面の左側のセレク
タ・スイツチ58を「UNIVERSAL DRIVE」と記された位置
に回す。（別のモータ・ドライブ・ユニツトが使用され
るときは、それに適する位置に回わす。電力は選択され
たレセプタクルにのみ供給される。） 所望の外科デバイス、例えばシエイバ／カツタデバイス
12を選択し、ハンドピース10及びデパイス12を一緒にし
てハンドピースをそのキー・スロツト60が見える方向に
する。そしてデバイス12のそのキー62が見える方向にす
る。次にデバイスをハンドピースの中にすべり込ませ、
キーをスロツトに入れる。そして、カチツという音がす
るまで押しつける。（外科デバイスを取りはずすことが
望ましいときは、キーを押し下げると同時にデバイスを
ハンドピースから引き抜く。吸入されていると、操作者
は、構成要素を一緒に保持する力を少し感じるであろ
う。） 各外科デバイスはその末端部においてバネ付リング64を
有する。これは、回転チツプの挿入及び除去を可能にす
るリリース・リングである。（参照符号は、デバイス12
に示してある。それと共通の構造上の特徴がデバイス14
及び16にもあり、同じ参照符号にプライム符号（′）及
びダブル・プライム符号（″）で示してある。） 回転チツプを取りつけるには、デバイス上のリリース・
リングをハンドピースの方にスライドさせる。これによ
つて、デバイス凹部の末端リム上のキー・スロツト66′
が現われる（第６図のデバイス16）。選択されたデバイ
スと同じフアミリから１つの回転チツプを選択する。
（回転チツプの基部は、使用しようとする外科デバイス
のみの穴と適正に合う大きさにされる。）ハンドピース
及びデバイスの方向を、デバイスのキー・スロツト66″
及びそれに対応するチツプ上のキーの両方が見えるよう
にする。チツプをデバイスに挿入し、キーをスロツトに
入れる。そしてリリース・リングをその元の位置にスラ
イドして戻す。（チツプを取りはずすときは、リリース
・リングをハンドピースの方にスライドし、同時にチツ
プをデバイスから引き抜く。吸入力が加えられている場
合には、操作者は構成要素を一緒に保持する力を少し感
じるであろう。） 動作させる前に、本装置の機能が試験される。
パワー・ユニツトのパネルの右下の機能選択スイツチ68
をONの位置にする。
パネルの左下のモータ・セレクタ・スイツチ58をハンド
ピースに対応する位置に回わす。本発明のハンドピース
が使用されるとき、パネルの上部のLED70の１つが使用
されているデバイスを自動的に示す。ハンドピースにデ
バイスが取りつけられていない場合、LEDは点灯せず、
モータは回転しない。
パネルの中央の速度制御器72を使用して、回転チツプの
速度を許容範囲内で制御する。
フツトスイツチを押してチツプのブレードが前方及び逆
方向に動くことをチエツクする。
パネルの右上のパーグラフ74に点灯するLEDを注視する
ことによつてバツテリに残つている電荷をチエツクす
る。下方の３個のLEDの１つが点灯すると、ユニツトは
できるだけ早急に充電しなければならない。機能選択ス
イツチ68はそのチエツクのためON（左側）位置にしなけ
ればならない。使用しないかあるいはパワー・ユニツト
を充電するときはOFF（中央）にする。作動中、フツト
スイツチが押されているときLEDバーグラフの読みが変
化するのは正常である。
ハンドピース・ドレーン管40のドレーン・コネクタ42に
吸入管44をしつかりと押しつける。
次に、第７〜7d図を参照して本発明による装置の回路に
ついて説明する。
1. 機能モード選択 選択は前面パネルの右下の３位置ロータリ・スイツチ68
によつて行う。このスイツチが「CHARGE」位置にあると
き、充電装置からの電流は抵抗R1を通してパワー・ユニ
ツトに流れ、その抵抗に小さい電圧降下を生じる。この
電圧がLED充電表示器D1を作動させる。ON位置にあると
き、前面パネルのLED D2が点灯し、選択された出力に電
力が供給される。OFF位置にあると、全ての回路は不作
動となり、バツテリから電力は引き出されない。
2. 残つている電荷及び充電速度表示器 高速充電中、前面パネルの充電速度LED D1が連続して点
灯する。バツテリが充分に充電されると、D1はついたり
消えたりするか、あるいは全然点灯しない（抵抗R1に電
流が殆んど流れないからである）。「CHARGE」又は「O
N」モードにあるとき、パーグラフB1はバツテリに残つ
ている電荷を表わす。トリム・ポツトP1及びP2は基線及
び設定値をセツトするためのものである。トランジスタ
T1は基準電圧を与える。
3. モータ・ドライブ選択 前面パネルの３極ロータリ選択スイツチS1によりハンド
ピースの電力出力部に電力が伝送される。このスイツチ
は３本の線路の１つに論理信号（接地レベル）を伝送
し、どのモータ・ドライブ・ユニツトが選択されたかを
回路の他の部分に伝える。
4. 外科デバイス検知及び論理制御 ハンドピース10内の２つの磁気リード・スイツチ（34,3
4′）は、取りつけられたデバイスによつて制御され
る。これらの配置は２つの論理ビツトを与えて４つの状
態、即ち、デバイスなし、シエイバ／カツタデバイス1
2、関節形成／滑液摘出デバイス14、そして小関節デバ
イス16を設定する。
デバイス12をハンドピースと組立てることによつて、磁
石36が対向するリード・スイツチ34を作動させ、スイツ
チ34′は作動しない。同様に、磁石36,36′を有するデ
バイス14をハンドピースと組立てることによつてそのス
イツチの両方を作動させる。デバイス16をハンドピース
と組立てるとスイツチ36′のみが作動する。（いずれの
デバイスも接続されないと、どちらのスイツチも作動し
ない。）こうして、本装置はハンドピースと組立てられ
たデバイスを確認することができる。
この情報及びモータ・ドライブ選択スイツチ58の位置は
幾つかのデコード回路セレクタの入力となる。いずれの
場合も、出力ラインの１つにのみ電流が供給される（ハ
ンドピースが取りつけられていないときは、全然電流が
流れない）。その出力ラインの回転は、モータ・ドライ
ブに送られる電力を制御するのに使用される。この回路
はモータ・ドライブとデバイスとの各組合せに対する電
圧／電流状態を別々に調節することを可能にする。更
に、別のデコード回路が前面パネル上のLEDの１つ（D3,
D4又はD5）に電圧を与えどのデバイスが取付けられたか
を示す。
5. 速度制御 選択されたハンドピース、デバイス及びトルクに対し
て、速度は供給電圧にほぼ比例する。電圧が増加して速
度が上がり、一定のトルクで回転していても、電流はほ
とんど変化しない。その理由は、速度の上昇はモータの
逆起電力（emf）を増大させるからである。駆動電圧が
パワー・トランジスタT2を通して与えられ、そのトラン
ジスタのベース・バイアスはOPアンプA1によつて制御さ
れる。駆動電圧の一部は、A1の基準入力にもどされる。
モータ・ドライブの速度は、前面パネル上の速度制御ポ
テンシヨメータP3を調節してA1への信号入力を変化させ
ることによつて制御される。電流感知フイードバツク抵
抗R2はモータに流れる電流に比例する電圧を生じさせ
る。ブレードの回転に対する抵抗が大きくなると、モー
タの回転は遅くなり、逆起電力（emf）が減少し、より
多くの電流が流れR2の両端の電圧が上昇する。この電圧
はA1への信号入力を増加させ、更に電圧がモータに加え
られ速度を元の値まで回復させる。回転に対する抵抗の
減少によつてもたらされる速度の上昇は反対の効果を有
する。こうして、回路は、安全なトルクの限度（利用可
能な最大バツテリ電圧）を超えない限り、回転速度を一
定に保つように動作する。
6. 速度範囲設定 ポテンシヨメータP3の固定端子における電圧によつて動
作可能範囲が決定され、そのワイパが制御電圧をレギユ
レータにOPアンプA3及びA4を介して送り、これらのOPア
ンプはインピーダンス・マツチングのために使用され
る。P3の上端の電圧はデコード回路セレクタAS1に接続
される５個の分圧回路網の１つによつて設定される。AS
1への入力はロータリ・セレクタ・スイツチS2及びモー
タ・ドライブ・ユニツト内のリード・スイツチによつて
設定される論理信号で、取りつけられるデバイスを示
す。これらの入力信号に基いて、AS2は使用されている
モータ・ドライブ及びデバイスに対する分圧回路網を選
択する。トリム・ポツトによつて各回路網を適切に調節
する。P3の下方端の電圧はAS2に関連の分圧回路網によ
つて同様に設定される。この配置によつてハンドピース
／デバイスの各組合せに対して別々に設定される。
7. トルク限度設定 選定されたハンドピース及びデバイスに対して、電流は
発生されるトルクにほぼ比例する。コントローラ／パワ
ーユニツトは電流を制限し加えられるトルクが使用中の
デバイスに対する安全値を超えないようにする。その電
流は抵抗R2の電圧降下を監視することによつて検知され
る。この電位をデコード回路セレクタAS3がハンドピー
ス／デバイス配置に対して個々に調節される分圧回路網
によつて分割する。（これによつて、使用されている構
成に対して前述の速度範囲設定の場合と同様にトルク限
度を設定する。）その結果の電圧はトルク制限OPアンプ
A2の入力となる。この入力が一定の基準レベルに達する
と、A2は非常に高ゲインで動作してA1の基準入力に大き
な信号を与え、その出力が更に上昇するのを防止する。
このようにして制限電流及びトルクに達した後は、駆動
電圧の上昇が防止される。
8. デバイス表示 デコード回路セレクタAS4はどのデバイスが使用中かを
前面パネルに表示させる。その機能はAS1と同様である
が、AS4は２つの入力のみを有し、デバイスだけによつ
て決定される点が異なる。異なるハンドピースが選択さ
れると、AS4は動作禁止される。ハンドピース10が選択
されると、AS4からの出力はパネル上のLED D3〜D5（第
１図の70）の１つを点灯させどのデバイスが取りつけら
れているかを知らせる。もしデバイスが取りつけられて
いないと、どのLEDも点灯せず、ハンドピースには電力
が送られない。
9. 正転／逆転 モータの正転がフツトスイツチによつて選択されると、
リレーX1が付勢され、スイツチS1によつて選択されるモ
ータ・ドライブの順方向に電力が与えられる。フツトス
イツチによつて逆転が選択されると、リレーX2が付勢さ
れモータ・ドライブへの電流は逆方向に流れる。
（他の実施例） 本発明の他の実施例が特許請求の範囲内において可能で
ある。例えば、外科デバイス及び回転チツプは一体のユ
ニツトとして設けることが可能である。所望であれば、

Claims (28)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】外科デバイスの基部を受けることが可能な
    ハンドピース（10）と、前記ハンドピースを作動させる
    手段（21）とを有し、前記作動手段が一対の端点を含む
    動作範囲を有する外科システムにおいて使用することが
    可能な外科デバイス（12、14、16）において、 前記外科デバイスは少なくとも１つの動作限度を有する
    とともに、その基部に少なくとも１つの動作限度を示す
    指示器（36、36′）を有し、 前記ハンドピースが、前記指示器によって示される内容
    を検知する自動検知手段（34、34′）を有し、前記外科
    システムが更に、 前記検知手段に応答して、前記ハンドピースによって受
    け止められる各外科デバイスの動作限度に従って前記端
    点の少なくとも１つを自動的に変更し、前記端点の外側
    にありそれらの端点間にない前記作動手段の作動の選択
    を排除する手段を有することを特徴とする、外科デバイ
    ス。
  2. 【請求項２】前記作動手段が前記外科デバイスを作動さ
    せるモータを含み、前記変更手段が前記検知手段に応答
    して前記少なくとも１つの動作限度に従ってモータの動
    作を制御する、特許請求の範囲第１項記載の外科デバイ
    ス。
  3. 【請求項３】前記外科デバイスが少なくとも１つの動作
    限度を有する外科器具を有し、前記動作限度が前記外科
    デバイスによって前記検知手段に示される、特許請求の
    範囲第１項記載の外科デバイス。
  4. 【請求項４】前記外科器具及び前記外科デバイスが一体
    的ユニットからなる特許請求の範囲第３項記載の外科デ
    バイス。
  5. 【請求項５】前記外科システムが前記外科デバイスを含
    む一組の異なる外科デバイスを有し、前記一組の外科デ
    バイスの各々が少なくとも１つの動作限度を有するとと
    もにその基部に少なくとも１つの動作限度を示す指示器
    を有し、前記ハンドピースが前記外科デバイスの各々の
    基部を択一的に受けることができる、特許請求の範囲第
    １項記載の外科デバイス。
  6. 【請求項６】前記作動手段が前記外科デバイスを作動さ
    せるモータを含み、前記変更手段が前記検知手段に応答
    して前記少なくとも１つの動作限度に従ってモータの動
    作を制御する、特許請求の範囲第５項記載の外科デバイ
    ス。
  7. 【請求項７】前記一組の外科デバイスの各々が少なくと
    も１つの動作限度を有する外科器具を有し、前記動作限
    度が前記外科デバイスによって前記検知手段に示され
    る、特許請求の範囲第５項記載の外科デバイス。
  8. 【請求項８】前記外科器具及び前記外科デバイスが一体
    的ユニットからなる特許請求の範囲第７項記載の外科デ
    バイス。
  9. 【請求項９】前記一組の外科デバイスの各々に対する指
    示器が、その組の他の外科デバイスと異なる磁界を発生
    する磁石手段からなり、前記ハンドピース内の検知手段
    が前記磁界に応答して前記変更手段をして前記少なくと
    も１つの動作限度に従って前記少なくとも１つの端点を
    変更させる、特許請求の範囲第５、６、７、または８項
    記載の外科デバイス。
  10. 【請求項１０】前記作動手段が前記外科デバイスを作動
    させるモータを含み、前記外科デバイスの各々が、前記
    モータによって作動され、身体の外科処理位置の組織を
    切除することができる関節鏡外科用器具を含む、特許請
    求の範囲第５項記載の外科デバイス。
  11. 【請求項１１】前記一組の外科デバイスの各々に対する
    指示器が、その組の他の外科デバイスと異なる磁界を発
    生する磁石手段からなり、前記ハンドピース内の検知手
    段が前記磁界に応答して前記変更手段をして前記少なく
    とも１つの動作限度に従って前記少なくとも１つの端点
    を変更させる、特許請求の範囲第10項記載の外科デバイ
    ス。
  12. 【請求項１２】前記変更手段が前記検知手段に応答して
    前記少なくとも１つの動作限度に従ってモータの動作を
    制御する、特許請求の範囲第11項記載の外科デバイス。
  13. 【請求項１３】前記変更手段がモータによって前記関節
    鏡外科用器具に与えられる速度及びトルク範囲を制限す
    る手段を含む、特許請求の範囲第12項記載の外科デバイ
    ス。
  14. 【請求項１４】前記関節鏡外科用器具及び外科デバイス
    が一体的ユニットからなる特許請求の範囲第13項記載の
    外科デバイス。
  15. 【請求項１５】前記変更手段がモータによって加えられ
    るトルクを制限し得ることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲
    第２項記載の外科デバイス。
  16. 【請求項１６】前記動作範囲が前記モータの速度範囲を
    含み、前記変更手段が前記少なくとも１つの端点を変更
    することによってモータの速度範囲を制限し得ることを
    特徴とする特許請求の範囲第２項記載の外科デバイス。
  17. 【請求項１７】前記モータが電気的でそれに関連の電源
    を有し、前記検知手段が前記外科デバイスの指示器に応
    答して、前記電源によって送られる電力に制限をもうけ
    ることによって、前記変更手段をして前記少なくとも１
    つの端点を変更させることを特徴とする、特許請求の範
    囲第２項記載の外科デバイス。
  18. 【請求項１８】前記検知手段が前記モータに加えられる
    電圧を制限することによって前記変更手段をして前記少
    なくとも１つの端点を変更させるように応答し、前記モ
    ータが前記端点内で加えられる電圧に従って速度を維持
    することができることを特徴とする特許請求の範囲第17
    項記載の外科デバイス。
  19. 【請求項１９】前記検知手段は前記モータに与えられる
    電流を制限するように応答し、前記モータによって与え
    られるトルクを制限することを特徴とする特許請求の範
    囲第17項記載の外科デバイス。
  20. 【請求項２０】前記外科デバイスが前記システムにおい
    て使用される一組の外科デバイスの１つであり、各外科
    デバイスの指示器がその組の他の外科デバイスと異なる
    磁界を発生し得る磁石手段からなり、前記ハンドピース
    内の検知手段が前記磁界に応答して前記作動手段をそれ
    ぞれの動作限度に切換えることを特徴とする特許請求の
    範囲第１項記載の外科システム。
  21. 【請求項２１】前記外科デバイスがその基部に前記指示
    器として作用する磁石を含み、前記ハンドピースの自動
    検知手段が前記磁石の存在によって作動することができ
    る一組のスイッチを含むことを特徴とする特許請求の範
    囲第20項記載の外科デバイス。
  22. 【請求項２２】前記一組の外科デバイスの少なくとも１
    つがその末端部に回転チップを有し、該回転チップはそ
    の外科デバイスによって前記検知手段に示される回転動
    作限度を有し、 前記外科デバイスの各々が、一端で各回転チップの真空
    通路に接続でき、他端に近接して前記ハンドピースに関
    連し外部吸入源（44、46）に基部の近くで接続される真
    空通路に接続できる真空通路を有し、 それによって、回転チップによって取られた組織を外科
    処置位置から摘出することが可能な、特許請求の範囲第
    ５項記載の外科システム。
  23. 【請求項２３】前記外科デバイスが前記システムにおい
    て使用される一組の外科デバイスのうちの１つであり、
    前記外科デバイスの指示器が前記一組のデバイスの他の
    外科デバイスの基部の指示器と異なる、特許請求の範囲
    第１項記載の外科デバイス。
  24. 【請求項２４】前記外科デバイスの指示器が前記一組の
    外科デバイスの他の外科デバイスと異なる磁界を発生す
    る磁石手段を有する、特許請求の範囲第23項記載の外科
    デバイス。
  25. 【請求項２５】前記変更手段が前記端点の１つを変更す
    る特許請求の範囲第１項記載の外科デバイス。
  26. 【請求項２６】前記変更手段が前記端点の両方を変更す
    る特許請求の範囲第１項記載の外科デバイス。
  27. 【請求項２７】前記外科デバイスが前記システムにおい
    て使用される一組の外科デバイスの１つであり、前記一
    組の外科デバイスの各々の指示器が、前記基部に配置さ
    れる少なくとも１つの磁石を含み、その組の他の外科デ
    バイスと異なる磁気的信号を発生し、 前記自動検知手段が、前記ハンドピースの末端部に配置
    される少なくとも１つのスイッチを含み、前記磁気的信
    号に応答して少なくとも１つの動作限度に従って前記変
    更手段をして前記少なくとも１つの端点を変更させ、 前記外科デバイスの各々の基部及び前記ハンドピースの
    末端部が充分に封止され、一組の外科デバイス及びハン
    ドピースの殺菌を可能にする、特許請求の範囲第１項記
    載の外科デバイス。
  28. 【請求項２８】前記外科デバイスの各々の基部及びハン
    ドピースの末端部が充分に封止され、圧熱による殺菌を
    可能にする、特許請求の範囲第27項記載の外科デバイ
    ス。
