Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- 1.屈折率変調を行う光装置において、前記変調はB2O3と少なくともSiO 2およびGeO2のうちの1つを含むガラスに行われ、屈折率のパターンの変化 は屈折率変調が行われるガラス組成物のホウ素の量に無関係である光装置。
- 2.屈折率変調は屈折率が高低の交互の領域の形態を採っている反射回折格子を 構成し、それによって前記変調は反射回折格子として使用されるように構成され ている請求項1記載の光装置。
- 3.前記屈折率変調の周期は0.25乃至0.6μmの範囲内であり、それによ って前記変調は選択的に放射線を800乃至1650nmの波長の範囲内で反射 する請求項2記載の光装置。
- 4.前記屈折率変調は導波体の制限領域に位置されている請求項2または3のい ずれか1項記載の光装置。
- 5.制限領域はB2O3でドープ処理されたシリカガラスで形成され、通路領域 はGeO2でドープ処理されたシリカガラスで形成されている請求項4記載の光 装置。
- 6.前記屈折率変調は導波体の通路領域に位置されている請求項2または3のい ずれか1項記載の光装置。
- 7.制限領域はシリカガラスで形成され、通路領域はB2O3とGeO2でドー プ処理されたシリカガラスで形成されている請求項6記載の光装置。
- 8.導波体はファイバの形態である請求項4乃至7のいずれか1項記載の光装置 。
- 9.ファイバは信号波長において単一モードである請求項8記載の光装置。
- 10.製品の一部分を240nmに近いピークを有する吸収バンドにアクセスす る変調された強度の放射線に露出することを含み、それによって前記部分の屈折 率は変調され、前記放射線のパターンの強度が再生され、前記部分はB2O3と 少なくともGeO2およびSiO2のうちのいずれか1つを含んでいるガラス組 成物から形成されている請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項記載の光装置の製造方法 。
- 11.前記放射線の波長は225乃至275nmの範囲内にある請求項10記載 の方法。
