Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain chrysanthemum seedlings for setting suitable for mechanical transplantation by arranging at regular intervals many pot-like seedling chambers each provided with an extruding hole at the bottom in a flexible seedling frame, putting culture soil in each chamber, followed by herbaceous cutting for each seedling to effect rooting. CONSTITUTION:Many pot-like seedling chambers 3 each provided with an extruding hole 2 at the bottom are arranged at regular intervals in a flexible seedling frame 1 and a herbaceous cutting is made in each of the chambers 3. After seedlings 6 are moderately rooted, an extruding rod is inserted on the bottom side into the chamber to extrude each of the seedlings 6 together with root pot developed therearound, and they are then set onto the field using e.g. a pot seedling transplanter.

There is a method of making a single line without plucking (no-plucking cultivation). Conventionally, the former core cultivation was the mainstream, but the latter from the viewpoint of improving the quality of cut flowers and reducing management labor (plucking and trimming work). No-pinning cultivation has come to the fore. In the case of pinching cultivation, about 18,000 seedlings are planted per 10a, and about 45,000 (18,000 × 2-3) cut flowers are harvested. In order to raise it, it is necessary to plant about 45,000 seedlings per 10a.

Up to now, all the planting work has been done by hand, but the labor load is large and there has been a strong demand for labor saving by mechanical transplantation.
Especially, in non-pinching cultivation, the number of plantings per unit area is large and the ratio of labor required for planting work (relative to the total labor required for growing chrysanthemums) is high. Therefore, mechanization of planting work is labor-saving. Is expected to be extremely large. In view of the above points, the present invention provides a method for raising seedlings for planting chrysanthemum, a pot seedling for planting, and a method for planting, mainly for mechanizing the planting work of chrysanthemums.

The chrysanthemum planting method for planting chrysanthemums according to the present invention is a flexible seedling frame in which a large number of pot-like seedling chambers having extrusion holes at the bottom are arranged at regular intervals. The feature is that the soil is put into each nursery, and one seed is inserted into each nursery and sprouting is performed to root the seeds. Further, the potted seedlings for planting chrysanthemums according to the present invention are rooted by being inserted into each seedling chamber of a flexible seedling frame in which a large number of pot-like seedling chambers having extrusion holes on the bottom surface are arranged at regular intervals. It is characterized by comprising the seedlings for fixed planting and the soil for forming a root pot of the seedlings containing a solidifying agent. Here, the solidifying agent may be added to the soil in advance or may be added before planting. The method for planting chrysanthemums according to the present invention is characterized in that the pot plant for planting is extruded together with the root pot from each nursery and planted.

The present invention will be described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. The flexible seedling frame 1 used in the present invention has a large number of pot-shaped seedling chambers 3 each having an extrusion hole 2 on the bottom surface. Are arranged at regular intervals, and have substantially the same structure as that disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 57-22288. The bottom extrusion hole 2 is a small hole or crack that allows the extrusion rod 4 to be inserted and removed, and reference numeral 5 is a feed hole for mechanically feeding the seedling chamber pitch.

After the seedlings 6 have been properly rooted by being inserted into each seedling chamber 3 of the seedling frame 1, the extruding rods 4 are inserted from the bottom side of the seedling chamber 3 to form the seedlings 6 in which the root pots 7 are formed. Push out the root bowl together.
The extruded pot seedling (a seedling with a root pot is called a pot seedling) can be planted in a field by a known pot seedling transplanter described in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 1-42977. In some cases, the extruded pot seedlings may be hand-planted.

By the way, the rooted seedlings 6 have roots that embrace the soil and form the root pots 7. However, the root pots 7 formed in the rooted state just suitable for planting have low strength,
There is a possibility that the extruding rod 4 may collapse during extrusion or during mechanical transplantation, making it impossible to continue the transplanting work. Therefore, in the present invention, a solidifying agent is added to the soil to increase the strength of the root pot. As a concrete means for adding the solidifying agent to the cultivating soil, a method of premixing the cultivating soil in the seedling room (for example, the example of Japanese Patent Publication No. 1-27682, the conventional technique of JP-A-4-335826) (See Examples), or a method of adding to the soil before planting by means such as irrigation and dipping (see, for example, JP-A-4-335826).

According to the present invention, it is possible to mechanize chrysanthemum planting work, which has not been provided with mechanical transplantation means up to now, and it is possible to greatly save labor for growing chrysanthemums. Further, the pot seedlings according to the present invention are soil-bearing seedlings unlike conventional seedlings, so that they can be well-implanted after planting.
