Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 差動装置の作用時にチャタリングが発生せ
ず、また金属摩擦板の摩耗が少なく、しかも酸化安定性
にすぐれた自動車リミテッドスリップデファレンシャル
（ＬＳＤ）用潤滑油を開発すること。 【構成】 基油に、オレイルアシッドフォスフェートの
アミン塩などのリン酸エステルアミン塩およびポリブテ
ニルコハク酸イミドとホウ酸との反応生成物などのホウ
素系無灰分散剤を配合するとともに、窒素含有量（Ｎ）
とリン含有量（Ｐ）との重量比（Ｎ／Ｐ）が0.５以上で
あり、かつ窒素含有量（Ｎ）とホウ素含有量（Ｂ）との
重量比（Ｎ／Ｂ）が４〜１０であるＬＳＤ用潤滑油組成
物である。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、自動車リミテッドスリ
ップデファレンシャル（ＬＳＤ）用潤滑油組成物に関
し、詳しくは自動車のデファレンシャルに内蔵されるＬ
ＳＤ装置のチャタリング（異常音）防止能および酸化安
定性にすぐれ、寒冷地を中心に増加しているスタッドレ
スタイヤ装着車のＬＳＤに好適に使用できるＬＳＤ用潤
滑油組成物に関するものである。
【０００２】
【従来の技術および発明が解決しようとする課題】一般
に、自動車のデファレンシャルに内蔵されるＬＳＤ装置
は、湿式多板クラッチを使用しており、金属板の摩擦力
によって差動制限力を保持している。このＬＳＤ用潤滑
油には、ＧＬ−５クラスの極圧性が要求されているた
め、従来より硫黄−リン系添加剤および摩擦調整剤を配
合した潤滑油が使用されている。しかしながら、これら
の潤滑油は、摩擦特性が不充分であるため、差動装置の
作用時にチャタリングと呼ばれる異常音が発生したり、
あるいは金属摩擦板が短期間に摩耗し、初期の性能を長
期間維持することが困難になることが多い。そのため、
摩擦特性が良好でその持続性にすぐれ、しかも金属摩擦
板の摩耗が少ない潤滑油の開発が望まれていた。
【０００３】
【課題を解決するための手段】本発明者は、このような
事情のもとで、差動装置の作用時にチャタリングが発生
せず、また金属摩擦板の摩耗が少なく、しかも酸化安定
性にすぐれたＬＳＤ用潤滑油を開発すべく、鋭意研究を
重ねた。その結果、基油にリン酸エステルアミン塩およ
びホウ素系無灰分散剤を配合するとともに、窒素含有量
とリン含有量との比率および窒素含有量とホウ素含有量
との比率を調節することによって、目的とする特性を備
えた潤滑油組成物が得られることを見出した。本発明は
かかる知見に基いて完成したものである。
【０００４】すなわち本発明は、鉱油および／または合
成油からなる基油に、リン酸エステルアミン塩およびホ
ウ素系無灰分散剤を配合してなる組成物であって、該組
成物中の窒素含有量（Ｎ）とリン含有量（Ｐ）との重量
比（Ｎ／Ｐ）が0.５以上であり、かつ窒素含有量（Ｎ）
とホウ素含有量（Ｂ）との重量比（Ｎ／Ｂ）が４〜１０
であることを特徴とする自動車ＬＳＤ用潤滑油組成物を
提供するものである。
【０００５】本発明の潤滑油組成物の基油には、従来か
らＬＳＤ用の潤滑油として用いられるものをはじめ、各
種の鉱油や合成油、あるいはこれらの混合油を充当する
ことができる。その種類や性状については、特に限定さ
れるものではないが、好ましくは１００℃における動粘
度が１〜５０ｃＳｔの鉱油および／または合成油であ
る。このような鉱油及び合成油は、各種のものがあり、
用途等に応じて適宜選定すればよい。その好適なものと
して、例えば、鉱油としてはパラフィン系鉱油，ナフテ
ン系鉱油などが挙げられ、合成油としてはオレフィンの
重合物や共重合物，二塩基酸のエステル，ポリグリコー
ル，ヒンダードエステルなどが挙げられる。
【０００６】また、本発明の潤滑油組成物は、上記基油
にリン酸エステルアミン塩およびホウ素系無灰分散剤を
配合してなるものである。ここで、リン酸エステルアミ
ン塩としては、様々なものがあるが、好ましいものとし
ては、リン酸エステルのアミン塩および亜リン酸エステ
ルのアミン塩、具体的にはアルキル基の炭素数１０〜２
０のアルキルアシッドフォスフェートのアミン塩（例え
ば、オレイルアシッドフォスフェートのアミン塩，ラウ
リルアシッドフォスフェートのアミン塩など）やアルキ
ルハイドロジェンフォスファイトのアミン塩などが挙げ
られる。一方、ホウ素系無灰分散剤としては、様々なも
のを充当することができるが、好ましくはアルケニル基
の炭素数２０〜２５０、さらに好ましくは３５〜１８０
のアルケニルコハク酸イミドやアルケニルコハク酸アミ
ドとホウ素化合物（例えばホウ酸，ホウ酸エステルな
ど）との反応生成物（例えばポリブテニルコハク酸イミ
ドとホウ酸との反応生成物）を挙げることができる。
【０００７】本発明の潤滑油組成物では、リン酸エステ
ルアミン塩およびホウ素系無灰分散剤の配合量は、組成
物中の窒素含有量（Ｎ）とリン含有量（Ｐ）との重量比
（Ｎ／Ｐ）が0.５以上、好ましくは0.７〜1.０であり、
かつ窒素含有量（Ｎ）とホウ素含有量（Ｂ）との重量比
（Ｎ／Ｂ）が４〜１０、好ましくは６〜９となるように
選定すればよい。Ｎ／Ｐの重量比が0.５未満では、潤滑
油組成物の摩擦特性が劣り、またチャタリングが発生し
やすくなり、摩擦板の摩耗が大きくなる。また、Ｎ／Ｂ
の重量比が１０を超えると、耐熱性が低下するととも
に、スラッジが発生しやすくなる。逆にＮ／Ｂの重量比
が４未満では、摩擦特性が低下する。
【０００８】本発明の潤滑油組成物における各成分の配
合量は、上述した範囲になるように定めればよいが、よ
り好ましくは、上記範囲を満足するとともに、リン酸エ
ステルアミン塩を全組成物の１〜１０重量％、特に３〜
８重量％とし、ホウ素系無灰分散剤を全組成物の0.１〜
２重量％、特に0.５〜1.５重量％の範囲に定める。さら
に、これらの条件とともに、潤滑油組成物中の各元素量
を次の範囲で定めると、目的とする性能を一層効果的に
発揮するすることができる。即ち、硫黄含量を1.５〜5.
０重量％、リン含量を0.１５〜0.４０重量％、窒素含量
を0.０８〜0.３０重量％、ホウ素含量を0.０１〜0.０４
重量％の範囲で定めることが、一層好ましい結果をもた
らす。
【０００９】本発明の潤滑油組成物は、上述した成分を
必須とするものであるが、さらに必要に応じて、各種の
添加剤、例えば極圧剤（硫化オレフィン，硫化油脂な
ど），耐摩耗剤（リン酸エステル，亜リン酸エステルな
ど），酸化防止剤（フェノール類など），消泡剤（有機
シリコーン化合物など），無灰分散剤（コハク酸イミド
など），粘度指数向上剤（ポリメタクリレートなど），
流動点降下剤（ポリメタクリレートなど），腐食防止剤
（硫黄・窒素化合物など）等を配合することができる。

【実施例】次に、実施例により本発明をさらに詳細に説
明するが、本発明はこれらの例によって何ら限定される
ものではない。 実施例１，２および比較例１〜３ 第１表に示す割合で配合してなる組成物について、低速
滑り試験，低速滑り耐久試験，チムケン摩擦試験，ＩＳ
ＯＴ試験および貯蔵安定性試験を行った。結果を第１表
に示す。

３５Ｃ表面焼入れ，ＨＲｃ＝４９）を用い、被駆動プレ
ートとしてＬＳＤ摩擦板（材質Ｓ３５Ｃ表面焼入れ，Ｈ
Ｒｃ＝４７）を用い、面圧８０ｋｇ／ｃｍ2 ，回転数１
〜１００ｒｐｍとした。μ１は１ｒｐｍの摩擦係数を示
し、μ５０は５０ｒｐｍの摩擦係数を示す（μ１／μ５
０が１以上になるとチャタリングが発生する）。 ＊５：摩擦板の摩耗量は、駆動・被駆動プレート合計の
試験前後の重量差とした。 ＊６：ＡＳＴＭ−Ｄ２７８２に準拠した。 ＊７：不溶解分はＡＳＴＭ−Ｄ８９３のＡ法に準拠して
測定したｎ−ペンタン不溶解分量である。 ＊８：遠心管に試料１００ミリリットルを入れ外観を観
察した。

【発明の効果】本発明の潤滑油組成物を自動車のＬＳＤ
に用いれば、新油の摩擦特性が良好であってチャタリン
グが発生せず、その経時変化も小さく、また、金属摩擦
板の摩耗が少なく、その上、酸化安定性にすぐれてい
る。したがって、本発明の潤滑油組成物は、自動車ＬＳ
Ｄ用の潤滑油として、その利用価値は高い。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 鉱油および／または合成油からなる基油
    に、リン酸エステルアミン塩およびホウ素系無灰分散剤
    を配合してなる組成物であって、該組成物中の窒素含有
    量（Ｎ）とリン含有量（Ｐ）との重量比（Ｎ／Ｐ）が0.
    ５以上であり、かつ窒素含有量（Ｎ）とホウ素含有量
    （Ｂ）との重量比（Ｎ／Ｂ）が４〜１０であることを特
    徴とする自動車リミテッドスリップデファレンシャル用
    潤滑油組成物。
  2. 【請求項２】 組成物中のリン含有量が0.１５〜0.４０
    重量％および窒素含有量が0.０８〜0.３０重量％である
    請求項１記載の潤滑油組成物。
