Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 複数台のホスト装置から、ビデオ信号をハー
ドコピー装置に取り込み印字をする。ホスト装置の近傍
にアダプタ装置を設け、アダプタ装置間をディジーチェ
ーン接続をすることにより、切換器を不用にし、ビデオ
信号の長距離伝送を可能にする。また同一チェーンで２
台のハードコピー装置が接続できるようにする。 【構成】 アダプタ側に、Ａ／Ｄコンバータ、同期分離
回路、ＩＤ番号設定機能、シリアル通信回路、ハードコ
ピー装置側にＰＬＬ、画像メモリ、シリアル通信回路、
Ａ／Ｂ装置設定機能、Ａ／Ｂ装置制御回路とで構成し、
ビデオ信号伝送する。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、ＣＲＴに表示された画
像を印字する、例えばカラーハードコピー装置のインタ
ーフェース回路に関する。

【従来の技術】複数台のホスト装置と、ハードコピー装
置とを接続する場合、リレー等によりビデオ信号を切り
換える装置を使用していた。また、２種類のハードコピ
ー装置に接続するには、同様にして切り換え用の装置が
必要であった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】切り換え装置において
は、ビデオ信号を直接伝送するため、同軸ケーブルで送
る必要があった。この場合、高周波数のビデオ信号を劣
化させずに伝送することは困難であり、また、ケーブル
が太くなるという欠点があった。
【０００４】本発明は、ビデオ信号が高周波数であって
も長距離に、かつ切り換え器を使わずに伝送することを
目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】上記課題を解決するため
に、本発明が採用した手段は、切り換え機能について
は、アダプタとハードコピー装置に、通信回路を設け、
ディジーチェーンの獲得を制御できるようにした。ま
た、アダプタにはＡ／Ｄコンバータを設け、デジタル信
号に変換してから、ハードコピー装置に伝送する。
【０００６】アダプタと、ハードコピー装置間の信号線
は、差動ドライバ、レシーバーで構成する。ハードコピ
ー装置間では、あらかじめＡ装置側、Ｂ装置側を設定す
るディップスイッチと、Ａ装置側、Ｂ装置側のバス獲得
を制御する回路を設けたことを特徴とする。

【作用】上記のような手段によると、選択されたアダプ
タは画像信号をＡ／Ｄ変換して、これをディジーチェー
ンにのせる。非選択のアダプタは、ディジーチェーンへ
の出力をハイインピーダンスにしているので、選択され
たアダプタからの信号のみが、ハードコピー装置に伝送
される。この信号はデジタル信号に変換されているた
め、長距離伝送であっても画像を劣化させることはな
い。ハードコピー装置間において、Ｂ装置側に設定され
たハードコピーは、Ａ装置側からの許可により、ディジ
ーチェーンを獲得するように動作する。

【実施例】図１は、本発明にかかわるブロック図であ
る。ホスト装置から、ビデオ信号と同期信号が供給され
る。同期信号分離回路１と、ＰＬＬ（フェーズロックル
ープ）２が接続され、ＰＬＬ２は同期信号からサンプリ
ングクロックを作成し、アダプタ３１に返す。アダプタ
３１内のＡ／Ｄコンバータ３で、ビデオ信号をサンプリ
ングクロックによって、Ａ／Ｄ変換し、ハードコピー装
置２１に送る。変換されたデータはグラフィックメモリ
４で画像データを記憶する。
【０００９】また、ＩＤ番号設定スイッチ５は装置番号
を設定するためのものである。シリアル通信回路６、７
はアダプタ３１とハードコピー装置２１間の制御のやり
とりをするためのものである。ハードコピー装置２１か
ら、ＩＤ番号付のコマンドを送ると、そのＩＤ番号に一
致したアダプタ装置３１が応答を返すという方法で、ｎ
台のアダプタ装置とハードコピー装置との制御を可能に
した。
【００１０】２台のハードコピーのＡ装置、Ｂ装置の設
定用スイッチ８は、Ａ装置、Ｂ装置制御回路９に接続さ
れ、Ａ／Ｂ設定スイッチ８で、たとえばＢ装置に設定さ
れたハードコピー装置は、アダプタとの交信、及びビデ
オ系のバス（画像データ・サンプリングクロック、同期
信号）を獲得する時に、Ａ装置に対して、Ｂ装置からＲ
Ｑ信号を出力し、Ａ装置からＡＣＫ信号がくれば、獲得
できるようにする。これらの各構成要素はアダプタ３１
とハードコピー装置２１のそれぞれにＣＰＵ（図示せ
ず）が設けられており、このＣＰＵと接続されている。
アダプタ３１とハードコピー装置２１間は、１本の多芯
ケーブル１０で接続されている。
【００１１】図２は、アダプタｎ台と、ハードコピー装
置２台の接続例である。ハードコピーＡ装置２１は図１
のグラフィックメモリ４、ＰＬＬ２、シリアル通信回路
７、Ａ／Ｂ制御回路９、Ａ／Ｂ設定スイッチ８からな
り、同じ構成のハードコピーＢ装置２２と接続ケーブル
１１で構成されている。一方、アダプタａ３１は、図２
のＡ／Ｄコンバータ３、同期信号分離回路１、シリアル
通信回路６、ＩＤ番号設定スイッチ５からなり、ホスト
ａ４１とビデオ信号１２で接続され、ハードコピーＡ装
置２１と接続ケーブル１１で接続され、またアダプタｂ
３２と別の接続ケーブル１１で接続されている。このよ
うな構成により前述の伝送切り換えが良好な状態で行え
る。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように本発明は、複数台の
ホスト装置のビデオ信号を切換器を使わずにハードコピ
ーに供給できる。アダプタ側で、ビデオ信号をデジタル
信号に変換しているため、画質の劣化がなく、長距離伝
送が可能になった。またアダプタとハードコピー装置を
接続するための同軸ケーブルが必要なくなったので、ケ
ーブルを細くすることができ、設置環境がスマートにな
った。また、２台制御が可能になり、同一のディジーチ
ェーン上で、２台のハードコピー装置を動作させること
ができる。たとえば高画質の昇華性カラープリンタ、高
速ローコストの溶融型カラープリンタなど、用途が異な
る時に本発明は有効である。

  1. 【請求項１】 ビデオ信号を表示するホスト装置の画像
    を、取り込んで印字するハードコピー装置において、 １）ホスト装置の付近で、同期信号をハードコピー装置
    に伝送する同期信号分離回路と、 ２）前記同期信号から作られたサンプリングクロックに
    より、画像信号をＡ／Ｄ変換するＡ／Ｄコンバータと、 ３）ハードコピー装置との制御を可能にするシリアル通
    信回路と、 ４）装置番号設定機能とを有するＩＤ番号設定スイッチ
    からなるアダプタ装置と、 ａ）前記同期信号分離回路からの信号を受けてサンプリ
    ングクロックを作成して前記Ａ／Ｄコンバータに送るＰ
    ＬＬ（フェーズロックループ）と、 ｂ）前記Ａ／Ｄコンバータからの画像データを記憶する
    グラフィックメモリと、 ｃ）前記アダプタとの制御のやりとりをするシリアル通
    信回路と、 ｄ）複数のハードコピー装置を制御するためのＡ／Ｂ制
    御回路からなるハードコピー装置を具備したことを特徴
    としたビデオインターフェース回路。
