Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は熱可塑性樹脂部材の熱輻射溶接方法に
関するもので、種々の熱可塑性樹脂部材の溶接に
用いて有効である。
〔従来技術〕
従来、熱可塑性樹脂部材の溶接を行なう場合、
熱風溶接法あるいは熱板溶接法を用いるのが一般
的である。熱風溶接法はノズルより熱風を溶接箇
所に吹きつけて溶接を行なう方法であるが、この
方法だとノズルより吹き出される熱風の風圧によ
り溶接部表面に波状の凹凸ができたり、熱風の対
流により溶接部以外の箇所に熱影響が及び、被溶
接部材が変形、変質したりするという問題があ
る。一方、熱板溶接法は、溶接箇所に熱板を溶接
させて被溶接部材を溶接させ結合させる方法であ
るが熱板を溶接箇所から引き離す際、溶融樹脂が
熱板から完全に離れず糸を引くという現象が生じ
る。つまり繊維状のバリが生じるという問題があ
る。さらに特開昭50−1175号公報に示されるよう
に、被溶接部材を所定間隔を介して配置し、この
所定間隔の間で被溶接部材に接することなく熱板
を配置して、この熱板からの輻射熱により溶接箇
所を融解した後、熱板を除いて被溶接部材を結合
させる方法があるが、この方法だと熱源により熱
板を加熱し、被溶接部材の溶接箇所の融解に寄与
しない余分な部分にも熱が伝達するため効率が悪
く、また、この余分な部分からの熱により溶接部
以外の箇所に熱影響を及ぼすという問題がある。
〔発明の目的〕
本発明は上記問題点に鑑みて案出されたもの
で、溶接層の厚さを均一にし、バリの発生を防止
すると共に効率良く確実に溶接部を融解して、溶
接部以外の箇所への熱影響を防止することを目的
とする。さらには、熱源の温度制御が容易に行え
るようにすることも目的としている。
〔発明の実施例〕
次に本発明の実施例を図に基づいて説明する。
第1図は本発明を実施する装置の一実施例であ
る。1及び2は熱可塑性樹脂よりなる第1溶接部
材1、第2溶接部材2で、その第1溶接面1aと
第2溶接面2aとを対向させながらベース20に
加圧保持具3,4によつて固定されている。5は
通電することで直接発熱する導体よりなる熱輻射
ヒータであり、このヒータ5は第1、第2溶接面
1a,2aの形状と略同形状を有すると共に、第
1、第2の溶接面1a,2aに対向する面の面積
が対向しない面積よりも大きい帯状である。第1
溶接面1aと第2溶接面2aとの間には所定間隔
が形成されており、この所定間隔に熱輻射ヒータ
5が配置される。このヒータ5の位置は前記所定
間隙のちようど中央の位置に配されている。尚、
第1溶接部材1と第2溶接部材2は溶接されるこ
とによつてタンクを形成する。
次に第2図〜第4図に基づいて溶接の手順を説
明する。
第2図は溶接前の第1溶接部材1および第2溶
接部材2を加圧保持治具3および4に取付けた状
態と、熱輻射ヒータ5を制御電源6にて昇温し、
加熱待期している状態を示す。このときヒータ5
の表面温度は赤外線放射温度計7で測定し、制御
電源6によつてフイードバツクされて常に目標値
に制御されている。
第3図は昇温した熱輻射ヒータ5を、第1溶接
面1aと第2溶接面2aとの間に形成された所定
間隔H内に移動させ、第1溶接面1aおよび第2
溶接面2aを同時に加熱し溶融させる工程を示
す。このときのヒータ5の表面温度は500℃〜
1200℃程度、加熱時間は5秒〜30秒が良い。ま
た、第1、2溶接面1a,2aを同時に同程度溶
融させるため、ヒータ5は所定間隔Hのほぼ中央
に位置させている。次に第4図に示す様にヒータ
5を取り去つて、加圧保持治具3および4にて速
やかに押圧、保持して接合する。このときの押圧
力Fは溶接部材の材質および形状により異なる
が、部材の接合面積1cm2当り0.5Kgf〜5Kgfが
良く、保持時間は8秒〜40秒が良い。また、一定
寸法まで押しつぶす方法であつても良い。そし
て、その後、押圧、保持を開放して接合を完了す
る。
第5図は他の変形例を示すもので、隔壁部を有
したマルチタンクの溶接も可能である。この溶接
は、第1溶接部材1と第2溶接部材2の外周溶接
部1bと2b、および隔壁部1cと2cを同時に
溶接するものである。この場合の熱輻射ヒータ5
の平面形状は、第6図に示すように第1ヒータ5
aと第2ヒータ5bに分割したものが良いが、溶
接部形状に沿つた形状であればこれに制約される
ものではない。
また、その他の変形例として、外周部以外に部
分的な接合部を有する溶接部材の溶接も可能であ
る。例えば、第7図に示すような、第1溶接部材
1及び第2溶接部材2の内側に支柱1d、および
2dを有する部材の溶接である。この場合の熱輻
射ヒータ5の平面形状は、第8図ち示す形状で良
く、同様に溶接が可能である。
尚、本発明者等の検討によれば、溶接部材の外
形がおよそ50cm2程度まで、溶接部長さの合計が約
30cm程度まで、溶接面積の合計が200cm2程度まで
のものであれば溶接可能であることがわかつてい
るが、さらに研究開発を進めればより大きな溶接
部材の溶接も可能である。
〔発明の効果〕
以上説明した様に、本発明の溶接方法を用いれ
ば溶接層の厚さを均一にすることができ、糸引き
現象などのバリ発生がなく、確実に溶接部のみを
加熱するため、効率的であると共に溶接部以外の
箇所への熱影響を防ぐことができ、熱可塑性樹脂
部材の安定した溶接を行なうことができる。さら
に、熱輻射ヒータが通電されて直接発熱する帯状
の導体であるために昇降温レスポンスが良く、フ
イードバツク制御により定温度制御を容易に行う
ことができ、生産性を向上することができる。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 1 複数の被溶接部材1,2をその溶接部1a,
    2aを互いに対向させながら所定間隔を介して配
    置させる第1工程と、 前記溶接部の形状と略同形状を有すると共に、
    前記溶接部に対向する面の面積が対向しない面の
    面積よりも大きい帯状であり、通電によつて直接
    発熱する導体5を、前記所定間隔の中位置に配置
    させる第2工程と、 前記導体を発熱させその輻射熱によつて前記被
    溶接部材の溶接部を溶接させる第3工程と、 前記導体を前記所定間隔から取り去る第4工程
    と、 前記被溶接部材の溶接部を互いに当接させ押圧
    する第5工程と、 前記溶接部を冷却し前記複数の溶接部材を結合
    させる第6工程とを経時順に行なう熱可塑性樹脂
    部材の熱輻射溶接方法。
