Claims (38)
- 超音波増感剤を有する細胞を治療する非侵襲的超音波力学療法に音波を提供するための超音波システムであって、
平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイを備える剛性シェルであって、
前記平面型圧電トランスデューサの各々が、平面音波またはデフォーカスされた音波を生成するように構成される、
剛性シェルと、
前記剛性シェルに取り付け可能な可撓性膜を備える患者インタフェースと、
流体を循環させて前記患者インタフェースにおける熱を低減するように構成された冷却システムであって、
前記平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイが、腫瘍細胞を治療するために、変調音波パラメータを有する周波数の信号を用いて駆動して、治療領域内の前記超音波増感剤における音響強度を生成する変調音波を生成するように構成され、
前記可撓性膜が、皮膚表面に適合するように構成され、

前記平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイにおける複数の素子の各々が、非侵襲的超音波力学療法のための平面音波面またはデフォーカスされた音波面を生成し、
前記超音波増感剤がプロトポルフィリンIXである、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。 - 前記信号が、音波のパケットを生成するためのパケットあたり所定数のサイクルを含むパケットであり、
前記パケットが、正弦波、矩形パルス、及び、三角形パルスからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つを含む繰り返し信号からなり、
前記超音波増感剤がプロトポルフィリンIXである、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。 - 前記超音波増感剤が5-アミノレブリン酸(5-ALA)を含み、前記5-ALAがプロトポルフィリンIXの産生増加をもたらす、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 多形性膠芽腫(GBM)を治療するように構成された、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 血液を介した、前記超音波増感剤の脳へのアクセスを容易にするように構成された、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 脳腫瘍細胞を治療するために前記治療領域で前記音波を生成する前記周波数の前記信号が、音波圧力でマイクロバブルを活性化することを含む、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記非侵襲的超音波力学療法が、前記患者の前記腫瘍細胞における前記音響強度の空間的変動を最小限に抑えるように構成され、前記信号が、位相変調音波を生成するための位相変調駆動信号及びパルス音波を生成するためのパルス信号からなる群から選択される、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記非侵襲的超音波力学療法が、前記患者の前記腫瘍細胞における前記音響強度の空間的変動を最小限に抑えるように構成され、前記信号が、デューティサイクル変調音波を生成するためのデューティサイクル変調駆動信号及び周波数変調音波を生成するための周波数変調駆動信号からなる群から選択される、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記信号が、音波のパケットを生成するためのパケット当たり所定のサイクル数を含むパケットであり、前記信号が、周波数変調信号及び位相変調信号からなる群のうちの少なくとも1つから選択される、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記パケットが、正弦波、矩形パルス、及び三角形パルスからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つを含む繰り返し信号で構成される、請求項23に記載の超音波システム。
- コントローラが、前記平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイ内の少なくとも1つの平面型圧電トランスデューサを検出するように構成され、前記検出された少なくとも1つの平面型圧電トランスデューサのための治療アルゴリズムを選択する、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記治療領域の広い一貫したカバレッジを促進するためのランダム化位相をさらに備え、前記ランダム化位相は、第1の変調音波と第2の変調音波との間で、前記第1の変調音波及び前記第2の変調音波の周期に対してシフトされた時間量を含む、請求項1から2のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。

前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイ内の個々の各トランスデューサが、ゼロフェルゲンツ音波を生成するように構成され、
前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波が収束せず、
前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波が発散せず、
前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイが、変調波パラメータを有する信号で駆動されて、0.2W/cm2~20W/cm2の範囲の強度を有する前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波を生成して、患者のがんを治療するために治療領域内のプロトポルフィリンIXを活性化するように構成され、
前記超音波システムが、前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイを皮膚表面に音響的に結合するように構成され、
前記可撓性膜が、前記皮膚表面に適合するように構成され、
前記冷却システムが、流体を循環させて前記皮膚表面の熱を低減するように構成される、
超音波システム。 - 超音波増感剤を有する細胞を治療する非侵襲的超音波力学療法のための音波を生成するように構成された超音波システムであって、
剛性シェルに取り付けられた可撓性膜と、
冷却システムと
を備え、
前記剛性シェルが、平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイと、コントローラとを備え、
前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイ内の個々の各トランスデューサが、ゼロフェルゲンツ音波を生成するように構成され、
前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波が収束せず、
前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波が発散せず、
前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイが、変調波パラメータを有する信号で駆動されて、20kHz~12MHzの範囲の周波数及び0.1W/cm2~50W/cm2の範囲の音響強度を有する前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波を生成して、がんを治療するために治療領域内のプロトポルフィリンIXを活性化するように構成され、
前記超音波システムが、前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイを皮膚表面に音響的に結合するように構成され、
前記可撓性膜が、前記皮膚表面に適合するように構成され、
前記冷却システムが、流体を循環させて前記皮膚表面の熱を低減するように構成される、
超音波システム。 - 前記コントローラが、組織深さ、組織体積、頭蓋骨厚さ、及び温度からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つのin situ変数を決定し、前記in situ変数に基づいて最適化された前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波を生成するために前記変調波パラメータを適応的に変調する、請求項29から30のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記コントローラが、in situ変数を決定し、前記in situ変数に基づいて治療領域を優先的に標的とするために前記音波を適応的に変調する、請求項29から30のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記コントローラが、前記治療領域内の健常細胞に熱的又は他の損傷を引き起こすことのない時間平均強度を有する前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波を生成するために、前記周波数の前記信号で前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイを駆動する、請求項30に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記コントローラが、前記治療領域内の健常組織の温度を42℃超に上昇させることのない時間平均強度で、非熱的にアブレーション治療するための前記ゼロフェルゲンツ音波を生成するために、前記周波数の前記信号で前記平面型圧電超音波トランスデューサのアレイを駆動する、請求項30に記載の超音波システム。
- 前記請求項1~34のいずれか1項に記載の超音波システムの作動方法。
- 超音波増感剤と共に音波を使用する装置の作動方法であって、
前記装置は、皮膚表面に音響的に結合されるように構成されたインタフェースを備え、前記インタフェースは、
可撓性膜と、
剛性シェルと、
冷却システムと
を備え、
前記可撓性膜が、前記剛性シェルに取り付け可能であり、
前記剛性シェルが、平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイを備え、
前記インタフェースが、前記平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイを前記皮膚表面に音響的に結合するように構成され、
前記可撓性膜が、前記皮膚表面に適合するように構成され、
前記装置は、
前記超音波増感剤において音響強度を生成する変調音波を生成するために、変調音波パラメータを有する周波数の信号で前記平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイを駆動する工程であって、
前記平面型圧電トランスデューサの各々が、平面音波またはデフォーカスされた音波を生成するように構成される、
駆動する工程と、
前記インタフェースでの熱を低減するために前記冷却システム内で流体を循環させる工程と
を実行する、作動方法。 - 前記装置は、
前記冷却システム内の温度センサを用いて温度を測定する工程と、
前記温度に基づいて前記信号を変化させる工程と
をさらに実行し、前記冷却システムが、前記温度センサと、前記可撓性膜と前記剛性シェルとの間の弾性流体充填ポケットとを備え、前記流体は水である、
請求項36に記載の作動方法。 - 前記可撓性膜が、前記平面型圧電トランスデューサのアレイを前記皮膚表面に音響的に結合する弾性流体充填ポケットを前記冷却システムに形成し、
