Description
本出願は、2018年1月15日に出願された、米国特許仮出願第62/617,378号に対する優先権の利益を主張し、その全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
本明細書に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物は、従来の植物ワックス及びパラフィンワックスよりも可撓性であるワックスを提供する、固有の組成を有する。この可撓性ワックス組成物は、ダイマー脂肪酸と、グリセリンで化学的又は酵素的にエステル化された脂肪酸又はトリグリセリドのいずれかとを使用することによって達成される。ダイマー脂肪酸は、グリセリド間の架橋剤として作用する。典型的には、ワックス製造において、当業者は、DAG及びTAGなどのより大きな成分を除去することによって、アシルグリセリドの平均分子量を低減することを意図する。ここで、驚くべきことに、より高分子量の成分を使用すると、有利には亀裂耐性であり、かつより速い冷却及び改善されたガラス付着などの改善された製造特性を有する可撓性ワックス組成物が提供された。
本開示の可撓性ワックス組成物は、例えば、可撓性ワックス組成物の少なくとも10重量%、15重量%、20重量%、25重量%、30重量%、35重量%、又は40重量%のダイマー化脂肪酸残基を有するアシルグリセリドを含有してよい。1つ以上のダイマー化脂肪酸残基を含有するアシルグリセリドは、1つ、2つ、又はそれ以上のグリセロール単位を含有してよい。このようなアシルグリセリドの一例は、本明細書に記載のアシルグリセリドポリマーである。別の例は、単一のグリセロール及び1つ以上のダイマー化脂肪酸残基を有するアシルグリセリドである。
本開示は、また、可撓性ワックス組成物の製造方法を提供する。本方法は、1つ以上の脂肪酸及び/又は油、脂肪酸ダイマー、並びにグリセリンを混合することを含む。得られた混合物を、エステル化及びエステル交換を誘起するエステル化触媒で処理する。可撓性ワックス組成物を提供するために、反応混合物が1.5未満の酸価に達するまで反応を進行させる。
以下の例示的な実施形態が提供され、その付番は、重要度のレベルを指定するものと解釈されるべきではない。
脂肪酸及び/又は油、ダイマー、並びにグリセリンを混合して反応混合物を形成することと、

約40重量%~約75重量%の約200Da~約580Daの重量平均分子量を有するモノアシルグリセリド及びジアシルグリセリドと、
少なくとも10重量%の約900Da~約3000Daの重量平均分子量(Mw)を有するアシルグリセリドと、を含む、可撓性ワックス組成物を提供する。
約20重量%~約45重量%のモノアシルグリセリドと、
約28重量%~約40重量%のジアシルグリセリドと、
少なくとも10重量%の約900Da~約3000Daの重量平均分子量(Mw)を有するアシルグリセリドと、を含む、可撓性ワックス組成物を提供する。
約20重量%~約45重量%のモノアシルグリセリドと、
約28重量%~約40重量%のジアシルグリセリドと、
約10重量%~約45重量%の、1つ以上のダイマー化脂肪酸残基及び複数のグリセロール部分を含有する化合物であるアシルグリセリドポリマーと、を含む、可撓性ワックス組成物を提供する。
脂肪酸及び/又は油、脂肪酸ダイマー、並びにグリセリンを混合して反応混合物を形成することと、
可撓性ワックス組成物を得るために、エステル化及びエステル交換を促進する苛性触媒又は酵素触媒を添加し、当該混合物が1.5未満の酸価を達成するまで反応を進行させることと、を含む、方法を提供する。

Claims (19)
- 20重量%~45重量%のモノアシルグリセリドと、
28重量%~40重量%のジアシルグリセリドと、
10重量%~45重量%の、1つ以上のダイマー化脂肪酸残基及び複数のグリセロール部分を含有する化合物であるアシルグリセリドポリマーと、
を含む、可撓性ワックス組成物。 - R1及びR2がそれぞれ二価のC18脂肪族基であり、Zが結合である、請求項2に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 1重量%~17重量%のトリアシルグリセリドを含む、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 前記組成物の48重量%~75重量%が、モノアシルグリセリド及びジアシルグリセリドである、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 2重量%未満の遊離脂肪酸及び遊離グリセリンを含む、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 前記組成物の20重量%~45重量%が、200Da~380Daの重量平均分子量を有するアシルグリセリドである、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 前記組成物の28重量%~40重量%が、380Da~580Daの重量平均分子量を有するアシルグリセリドである、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 前記組成物の10重量%~17重量%が、580Da~900Daの重量平均分子量を有するアシルグリセリドである、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 前記組成物の10重量%~45重量%が、900Da~3000Daの重量平均分子量を有するアシルグリセリドである、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 前記組成物の少なくとも20重量%が、580Da~3000Daの重量平均分子量を有するアシルグリセリドである、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 前記組成物の少なくとも40重量%が大豆油である、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 50~60℃の範囲の滴点を有する、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 天然油系ワックスである、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 30MPa未満の平均クリープ剛性を有する、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- 15MPa未満の平均クリープ剛性を有する、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物。
- キャンドルにおける、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物の使用。
- 紙コーティング、ボックスコーティング、フルーツコーティング、OSBのためのブロードサイジング、タイヤ及びゴム、ポリ塩化ビニルの配管、クレヨン、並びにパーソナルケアにおける、請求項1に記載の可撓性ワックス組成物の使用。
- 可撓性ワックス組成物の製造方法であって、
脂肪酸及び/又は油、脂肪酸ダイマー、並びにグリセリンを混合して混合物を形成することと、
可撓性ワックス組成物を得るために、前記混合物が1.5未満の酸価を達成するまで、苛性又は酵素触媒を前記混合物に添加してエステル化及びエステル交換反応を促進することと、
を含む、方法。
