Description
本出願は2018年12月5日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/775,624号及び2019年8月21日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/889,785号の優先権を主張し、参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
(R1O)3Si-Y-Si(R2O)3(I)
で表される多官能性カップリング剤を使用して調製され、
R1及びR2は、独立して、H又はC1-C6アルキル基であり、Yは、C2-C8アルキレン基である。カルバニオン鎖末端を有する反応性ポリマー鎖は、カップリング剤(I)の2つのケイ素中心と反応して、カップリングされたブロックコポリマー及びカップリングされたホモポリマーを形成する。式(I)は6個の脱離基(アルコキシ基)を有するので、カップリング剤は六官能性であり、したがって理論的には、各ケイ素上に1~3つのポリマー鎖が存在し得る。式(I)を含む任意の六官能性有機ケイ素化合物を、カップリング剤として使用することができる。一実施形態では、好ましい多官能性カップリング剤は、1,2-ビス(トリメトキシシリル)エタン(BTMSE)、1,2-ビス(トリエトキシシリル)エタン(BTESE)又はそれらの混合物からなる群から選択される。
(A-B)m(R1O)3-mSi-Y-Si(R2O)3-n(B-A)n(II)
で表され、
R1、R2及びYは、式(I)について上述したようなものであり、m及びnは、以下でさらに説明するように、分岐の程度を与える整数である。いくつかの実施形態では、分岐ブロックコポリマー(II)は、H、メチル又はエチルから独立して選択されるR1及びR2を有し、Yは、-CH2-CH2-基である。
(C)m(R1O)3-mSi-Y-Si(R2O)3-n(C)n(III)
で表され、
R1、R2及びYは、式(I)について上述したようなものであり、m及びnは、式(II)について上述したようなものである。Cブロックは、1つ以上の共役ジエン(1,3-ジエン)に由来する繰り返し単位から主に構成される。Cブロックを調製するのに有用な好適な1,3-ジエンの非限定的な例としては、ブタジエン、イソプレン、ピペリレン、シクロヘキサジエン、2,3-ジメチル-1,3-ブタジエン、ミルセン、ファルネセンなどが挙げられる。Cブロックは、独立して、400~1000kg/モル、好ましくは500~700kg/モルの重量平均分子量を有する。分岐ホモポリマー(III)における分岐度は、m及びnの値に依存し、分岐ブロックコポリマー(II)について上で説明したのと同様に変化し得る。一実施形態では、m及びnは、1又は1の値を有する。別の実施形態では、m及びnは、(m+n)が2より大きく6以下となるような1~3の値を有し、これは数学的に2<(m+n)≦6として表すことができる。m+nの値は、3~6であり得る。いくつかの実施形態では、式(III)におけるm及びnの値は、それぞれ、1、2;1、3;2、2;2、3;3、2;3、1及び3、3であり得る。好ましい実施態様では、R1及びR2は、H、メチル又はエチルから独立して選択され、Yは、-CH2-CH2-基である。
分岐ポリイソプレンホモポリマーの調製。
分岐ポリイソプレンホモポリマーの調製。これらを、上記手順を使用してゴムセメントとして調製した。結果を表2に示す。対照試料は、カップリング剤を使用せずに作製した直鎖状の(非分岐)ポリイソプレンであった。
分岐ポリイソプレンゴムラテックスの調製。ゴムセメント試料を、ポリマー及び石鹸溶液用の投入ポンプを有するインライン高せん断混合装置を備えたベンチスケールラテックス製造設備に移し、セメントと不均化ロジン酸カリウム塩水溶液との固定比から標準化した乳化条件下でエマルジョンを製造した。続いて、エマルジョンを溶媒除去して希釈ラテックスを得、これをアルギン酸ナトリウムの添加後にクリーミングによって濃縮した。結果を表3に示す。対照-2は、上記の対照-1のゴムセメントから調製した参照ポリイソプレンゴムラテックスである。

Claims (11)
- ゴムラテックスを形成するための方法であって、
少なくとも40%のカップリング効率(CE)を有する分岐ブロックコポリマーであって、前記分岐ブロックコポリマーが、1つ以上のポリマーブロックA及び1つ以上のポリマーブロックBを含み、式(A-B)m(R1O)3-mSi-Y-Si(R2O)3-n(B-A)nを有し、
各Aブロックが、独立して、少なくとも90モルパーセントのアルケニル芳香族炭化水素を含み、前記1つ以上のAブロックが、前記ブロックコポリマーの総重量の8~13重量パーセントを形成し、
各Bブロックが、独立して、少なくとも90モルパーセントの1つ以上の1,3-ジエンを含むポリ(1,3-ジエン)ブロックであり、
各Aブロックが、独立して、9~15kg/モルの重量平均分子量を有し、各Bブロックが、独立して、75~150kg/モルの重量平均分子量を有し、
R1及びR2が、独立して、H又はC1-C6アルキル基であり、Yが、C2-C8アルキレン基であり、m及びnが、独立して、1~3の値を有する整数である、
分岐ブロックコポリマーを含むゴムセメントを提供することと、
前記ゴムセメントを、ゴムラテックスを形成するために乳化することと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記ゴムセメント中の前記分岐ブロックコポリマーにおいて、(m+n)が、3~6の値を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ゴムセメント中の前記分岐ブロックコポリマーにおいて、Yが、-CH2CH2-であり、R1及びR2が、水素、メチル基又はエチル基である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ゴムセメント中の前記分岐ブロックコポリマー中の前記1,3-ジエンが、イソプレンであり、前記分岐ブロックコポリマー中の前記アルケニル芳香族炭化水素が、スチレンである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ゴムセメントが、15重量%~25重量%の固形分含有量範囲において、25,000mPas未満のゼロせん断粘度を有する、請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の方法によって形成された、ラテックス。
- ゴムラテックスを形成するための方法であって、
少なくとも40%のカップリング効率(CE)を有し、式(C)m(R1O)3-mSi-Y-Si(R2O)3-n(C)nを有する分岐ポリイソプレンホモポリマーであって、
各Cブロックが、独立して、400~1000kg/モルの重量平均分子量を有するポリイソプレンブロックであり、
R1及びR2が、独立して、H又はC1-C6アルキル基であり、Yが、C2-C8アルキレン基であり、m及びnが、独立して、1~3の値を有する整数である、
分岐ポリイソプレンホモポリマーを含むゴムセメントを提供することと、
前記ゴムセメントを、ゴムラテックスを形成するために乳化することと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記分岐ポリイソプレンホモポリマーにおいて、(m+n)が、3~6の値を有する、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記分岐ポリイソプレンホモポリマーにおいて、Yが、-CH2CH2-であり、R1及びR2が、水素、メチル基又はエチル基である、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記分岐ポリイソプレンホモポリマー中のCブロックが、500~700kg/モルの重量平均分子量を有する、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記ゴムセメントが、5重量%~25重量%の固形分含有量を有する、請求項7~10のいずれかに記載の方法。
